"And that's it. The whole Land of Dawn in a map." Princess Odette opened a big scroll on the table in the castle's archive. They have so much old stuff in here. But I am amazed with how big the library is. Every corner of every shelf is filled with the oldest and newest books the naked eye could see. Thick ones and thin ones, name it, the library has it. The crystal chandelier illuminates the whole room and marbled floor shines with the light it reflects.
Princess Odette and I did our daily routine since I have arrived here, our daily walk around the castle and having a meaningful conversation. She thought of telling me about the places in Land of Dawn. She tells detailed stories about the locations as she points them one by one in the map. Listening to her, my ears had this soothing feeling. I was like listening to an angel singing. She is undeniably beautiful, inside and out. Her long locks fit her pretty face very well. And such grace and poise she has. Unlike me who has done nothing but fall of the stairs and slip off on the floor whenever my feet feel like doing it since I got here. What do they even do to the floors for them to become that slippery for me?
Belerick on the other hand spent his time beside Swan Lake, watching the swans dance marvelously on the waters, and at the same time giving life to the nature surrounding the lake. I could see him on the window right next to us. I could have not appreciated him more for helping me. He's such a great friend to me, from the time I woke up without remembering anything. I could have not survived this long if it weren't for him.
"You know, Belerick is such a kind creature."
"Hmm?" Odette noticed me looking at the window and paying attention to the cute Belerick instead of listening to her stories. When she got my attention, she smiled.
"Belerick is kind and sweet. He makes a good friend."
"Yes, I agree. Even though I have not known him for so long, I can tell."
"I remember the kindest thing he did for me, when we first met."
"Oh yeah? Please do tell."
"It was at the last year of my teenage, there was a terrible drought and it dried up Swan Lake. It tore my heart when the swans left at the time, and the magnificent horizon of the lake lost its beauty. It felt like I lost my friends when they went away. I was afraid I would never see the dawn of Swan Lake again. Because every day, I would wake up early and look at the view as the sun rises up ahead. Until the day when this cute green creature showed up out of nowhere and filled Swan Lake with life again. Not long after that, the swans came back in flocks, there was so many I couldn't count."
"And then what happened?"
"I went down to Swan Lake, and the creature approached me and said 'Don't frown now, dear one. The lake you love so much will never lose its life as long as I am here'."
The story Odette told me has touched my heart. It felt warm. And she was smiling the whole time which made me feel the story even more. A proof, that Belerick is what I think he is.
"If I may ask, Lunox, where have you kept the Twilight Orb?"
"The Twilight Orb? It's within me."
"Within you?"
"Yes. Not long ago," I held my chest and tried to sound my happiest, "I learned that I can conceal the Twilight Orb in me. I did not know how I did it, I just did."
Odette held a comfortable smile, "Good. You must take good care of it. It is of utmost significance to the salvation of the Land of Dawn. It holds great power. Many people, good and evil, have tried to understand its true power as it is said to be mysteriously mighty, wherein if held by the wrong hands, will cause the greatest destruction. And you Lunox, are the rightful owner of such powerful relic."
"I own the Twilight Orb? How come?"
"You came out of that, right? If what Belerick had said to me is true, then finders keepers. Like that."
"Oh if you say so." Weird. Just a while ago she said that a lot of people were trying to search and get their hands on the Twilight Orb and here she is saying jokes about it. I don't get this Princess, sometimes she's seriously passionate, and sometimes she could just be bonkers. "Oh yes, I forgot to ask you, Princess."
"What is it?"
"Since you have your magic, why do you have a sword with you? Isn't your magic enough to defy enemies when they attack?"
"Oh this?" She held out the sword I asked her about. It had these artistic details and it had a stone of blue that glowed as the light touched it. "The sword is a gift."
"A gift?"
"It was given to me by the person I love more than anything. My Prince. He remembers to buy me more gears. So I when the time when I can't rely on my magic, I'd be ready."
She sounded so in love. Her affection for her prince is all over her face. Thinking that he gave her a sword is so sweet. It is a sign that he loves her so much and he wouldn't want anything bad happen to her. It's as if she was carrying a piece of him anywhere she would go.
"Oh. It sounds like he is such a noble man."
"Well …" she looked up "… not until he met me, he's not."
"What do you mean?"
"You really want to know? Why not ask him yourself?" said Odette as she put on a smile on her face. "We will hold a grand celebration tomorrow here in recognition of your arrival to the Land of Dawn. I would also want the people to know that you are residing here at Swan Castle."
She combed my hair behind my ear and held my hand after, "Dear one, you don't know how long we have waited for you to come to the Land of Dawn. I hope we could tell you completely why, but there is not enough I can say. All I know is that you, a girl who wears both colors of the darkness and light, will come and end the imbalance between chaos and order."
"Wha-what are you talking about? Me, darkness and light? End the imbalance?"
"Yes. I wish I had known more but I'm afraid that is the only thing I must tell you, Lunox, for that is all the prophecy has stated. The other details, you must find for yourself. Now, I must send invitations for tomorrow's occasion." Then she left me in the room by myself after patting my head with a smile on her face.
I recalled every word she said to me. A girl who wears both colors of darkness and light, end the imbalance between chaos and order … did she mean me? I stood in front of the mirror and saw it for myself. I do have colors of both sides. Even my hair color shows it. And I just realized that now. How stupid of me. But what does she mean? I'm not powerful? I don't even know if I have them. And why does everybody keep telling me I would save the world? The questions I want to find answers for are multiplying. I don't know how long I can take them unanswered.

"Lunox, come here. Come my dear child."
"Who's there? Who's calling me?" It's that voice again. The voice I heard from the Oasis. How strange! What is this place? All of these feel so remote.
"Lunox, do you remember me? Do you recall my voice?"
"Who are you? What do you want?" I kept walking and walking looking for who was talking, but it felt like I was walking in circles and I can't find that person or my way out of this dark and light realm.
"Yes Lunox, come to me. Come here, my dear child. Maybe here you will remember."
"What? What do I have to remember?"
"What do I have to remember?!" I opened my eyes, realizing that everything was just dream. But it felt so real. I can't tell, the images were fuzzy. Even I myself can't tell difference between my dreams and reality anymore.
"That tonight will be the night to show you to many people, maybe?" Belerick was in the room when I woke up after having that strange dream. It's the voice from before, I heard it already. It told me my name. And now it says I have to remember. Remember what? Remember me? "So, did you have a bad dream again?"
"No. Not really." I scratched my head trying to wake myself more. "It wasn't a bad dream. I was walking in circles in a realm of light and dark, and a voice was calling out to me."
"A voice?"
"Yes, it's the voice I told you about before, when we first met. It told me my name." Belerick just stood there staring at me saying no word. "Why are you staring at me?"
When he realized what he was doing, he started to get a hold of himself. "Oh, nothing. Well, tonight's a big night. The occasion will focus on you, destined one. It would be a great privilege for the Regina's to host for you."
"Okay, I'm starting to get tired of getting called the prophecy when I don't even know how and why you point it at me? What is it with you people and this prophecy anyway? Why do you think I'm that powerful?" Honestly, all these treatments like I'm someone very important is starting to get the nerve out of me. I mean, it's not that I don't like it or want it. I appreciate it actually. But a part of me keeps telling me that I don't deserve this. I'm no one. I don't have magic powers. I don't even remember who I am. So why wo they keep telling me that I'll save the world?
"You'll come to the answer at the right time. For now, let's just enjoy the occasion about to happen. After all, it's for you. And the whole Land of Dawn is about to come and know your very existence." Belerick held a smile as he went out of the room. And there, he left me without an answer. Every time I bring up the subject about me, the prophecy and this whole light and darkness thing, they give me just fragments and I can't even put them together. I don't understand, but I want to. This must and will tell me who I am. It feels miserable not remembering anything about my past life, not even a memory of it and people are telling me who I am for them.
Hurray for the second chapter! I really took long to make this update because I kept thinking of a good tactic to prolong the plot that would lead to the big event, and I hope you guys would be there to witness it! Keep supporting! Much love to you!
