After the test, he had been asked if he wanted to leave his name in a pilar of sorts, he just said no as he didn't want other people to challenge him all the time.
When 10 people reached the Epic Adventurer rank, other players that passes the epic assestment could only become Epic Adventurer by challenging and defeating one of the former 10 Epic Adventurers.
Then the administrator gave him a purple emblem, this was the proof of an Epic Adventurer and one could take any Tier 2 quest without restrictions.
A epic adventurer was equivalent to a 4-star adventurer, probably only the branch leader had a higher status.
Diferrent from normal quests, the ones given by the Association required a player to deposit money untio they completed the quest.
Completing the quest would gave the rewards and return the deposit. Failing it make the player lost the deposit but no penalty would be applied.
An epic adventurer had a 50% deposit discount. The adventurer could also pick an S rank quest each week.
Leroy looked at the administrator and said "Show me the commission quests"
"Inmediatly" The administrator replied and leaded him to a reception before handing him a list of quests.
The amount of quest was huge.
There were 31 S-rank commissions available at the moment, which only Epic adventurers could accept. As for A-rank commissions, which only Dark-Gold adventurers and higher could accept, there were 754 available. He didn't put any other quest on his eyes.
The S rank quests also had different ranks between them.
Normally, S-rank commissions were considered kingdom-level quests. In other words, success and failure could affect an entire kingdom. Needless to say, these were incredibly difficult quests. Only powerful Epic adventurers could hope to challenge them.
SS-rank quests were obviously more important than S-rank. Normally, these quests could affect two or three kingdoms or an empire.
SSS-rank commissions could determine a country's rise or fall. Normally, encountering such a quest heavily relied on luck.
He looked at the SSS rank ones, there were four of them available. Dragon Invasion, Four Fallen Angels, Hex of Destiny and Fafnir's Revenge.
Each quest seemed extremely difficult to complete, Leroy took his time contemplating.
"Sir, I can offer you a recommendation based on you preference if you wish" The administrator said.
"Alright, recommend one of the four, I just want an interesting thing to do" Leroy said with an expression of boredom.
"This... currently there is no chance to defeat Fafnir, making him angry would mpst definetly result in the destruction of the empire.
Little is known of the Hex of Destiny, sir would probably have to spend a high amount of time searching for information.
Dragons are too strong and numerous for the empire to defend currently.
The four fallen angels are very strong too but I believe that sir would find a very strong oponnent in them, they have been causing trouble for the last four decades to the empire" The administrator explained calmly.
Leroy nodded, altough he was very interested in fighting dragons, there was no point in accepting a quest that would surely destroy the empire, he didn't want to waste time searching for information. The fallen angels seemed the most affordable pick.
"Alright, I want to choose the Four Fallen Angels commission" He said, it seems that the administrator understood his personality quite well.
"Sir, this commission will require a 9,000 Gold deposit. However, as you are an Epic adventurer, you are only required to pay half. Are you sure you wish to accept this commission?" The administrator asked for confirmation.
"Yes" Leroy replied and passed the money to him.
"What do you have on these fallen angels?" Leroy asked, he at least needed somewhere to start.
"One of them is said to be underground in the Cave of Varaf, at the Valley of Redemption, recovering from the wounds left by one of the empire's champions. Sir, I suggest you to go there after you grow stronger, also to bring some friends, fallen angels are species with extraordinary battle power. Once the first angel dies, the other three will definetly go crazy with rage" The administrator explained.
Leroy nodded, creatures like angels had much higher battle power than other species, including the archaic species.
After leaving the place, he sent a message over to Ye Feng asking for information related to the quest. He still put a request for the dream chader team members, if they gave him helpful information, they would obtain contribution points, all types of items, help with difficult quests or even more information.
This inmediatly excited the team members and they started gathering information at the same time that they farmed materials, the connections of the team have provided them with many benefits.
Players of other guilds that focused only in pve would never have as many benefits as them here.
After a few hours, Ye Feng entered the game and sent him a message.
"Have you accepted that commission?" Ye Feng asked very nervously. He could only thing of one reason for Sensations to ask for information about Fallen Angels and the Valley of Redemption.
"It seems you know why I asked you this? Strange, I am the only epic adventurer in the empire and therefore the only player that should have access to that" Leroy replied with an amused smile.
Ye Feng now understood his mistake, he tried go give a cheap excuse but Leroy interrumpted him inmediatly.
"So, do you know anything about the matter?"
"Yes, the angels have been causing trouble for the empire and sorrounding countrys. It is said that they have powerful items with them that are capable of threatening entire empires. They are probably recovering their strength before attacking again, their main enemy is the War God Temple but they would also destroy anything in their path" Ye Feng started speaking a bit about them, the moment than one of those fallen angels was attacked, the Star-Moon Kingdom would also be affected.
On the other hand, Zero Wing could obtain some benefits from this situation if capitalized properly.
"So where is this Valley of Redemption?" Leroy asked, Ye Feng hadn't mention it yet.
"The Valley of Redemption is now known as Azure Cloud Valley. It is a high level map, you should bring more people there, I can send the Dark Gods Legion to assist you if you wish. I suggest to wait for more player to reach Tier 2 first" Ye Feng said, it would be a good oportunity for his legion to improve too.
"Alright, I'll first wait for the team to grow stronger before going there. Any recommendation?" They chatted for a while.
Leroy started looking for scrolls and magic arrays as he would need them before going there.
Now that the matter was settled, he notified the core members of the team before going to Sage's Town.
Lucian has mentioned a gift from Vlaric, he wondered if he was strong enough yet to obtain it, after all he reached Tier 2 already.
-
Sage's Town was not much different from before, if one would point out the difference it would be the undead levels and tiers.
The town's population seemed to be full, there were many merchants here and there but the development seemed to go slowly.
Leroy walked directly to the chief mansion where Lucian received him.
"It seems things are going well, what is required to upgrade the town, also, how many magic crystals have they sent?" Leroy asked Lucian as they chatted.
"They have sent 84,000 magic crystals, we have sent them some bone dust and essences in return. If master wants to expand the town it is required to capture other towns. But some of them are under the jurisdiction of cities, it would be unwise to assault those" Lucian replied.
Leroy wasn't surprised by the amount of crystals, they had no use for them so it was to be expected that they traded this useless item for the valuable essences.
"So we need to go war to expand, how many towns needs to be captuted before upgrading to a city?" He asked.
Lucian replied happily "We need to capture three towns first, and if master wants to create a Necropolis we need to capture or create twenty cities"
Leroy looked at the cheerful skeleton with a smile, this fellow just wanted to assault other places. He didn't mind though, he knew that war was inevitable all over the game, furthermore he was used to such a thing.
"Last time you mentioned that Vlaric left an item behind for his successor" Leroy said and looked at the skeleton's eye sockets.
"Oh right, Vlaric left behind that item in the underground. He didn't want his successor to obtain it if he didn't probe to be worthy.
Altough he didn't specify how his successor is to prove his worth, master seems much more superior to Vlaric at that time. Please follow me" Lucian said and guided him to another room.
The skeleton opened a strong magic array and the wall moved, stairs leading down into the underground, they both descended.
The total darkness didn't prove to be a problem, after five minutes they arrived at a double doors four meters tall.
Lucian opened an array that Leroy felt should be above Tier 4.
"Master should enter now, I don't know what is inside" Lucian said and turned his body as if keeping guard.
Leroy nodded and pushed open the doors.
Walking inside the room, the doors closed behind him. In the room he saw a seven magic arrays in perfect synchronization with a three meter tall dark crystal floation in the middle.
"This is the thing he left behind?" Leroy started walking to the crystal.
The array started to supress him heavily, but the Soul Orb and the Vlaric Star Ring seemed very excited and dissipated the pressure.
Then two system notifications sounded as he arrived near the floating crystal.
System: Soul Orb has detected upgrade material. Do you wish to absorb it?
System: Vlaric Star Ring has detected upgrade materials. Do you wish to absorb it?
He took his time while thinking, would they really upgrade? Was the soul orb incomplete?
The ring has absorbed starfire ores before but didn't managed to upgrade, as for the soul orb, only it's atrributes increased slightly after killing a high amount of players.
The ring gave him many passive attributes while the soul orb had powerful skills and atrributes, both were very powerful items.
At the end, he selected to absorb it with the Soul Orb, after all it was the weapon that Vlaric gave only to him and this crystal was also exclusively for him.
The soul orb released a dense dark aura that enveloped the crystal, the crystal started shrinking in size slowly but it's aura was becoming stronger by the second.
The pressure from the arrays also increased constantly.
After the crystal shrinked to ten centimeters in size, something flew out of his body.
Leroy looked at the Soul Orb with interest as he saw the dark crystal slowly fusioning inside the orb.
It took half an hour for the process to end and the soul orb returned inside of him.
System: Soul Orb upgraded succesfully. Soul Orb has been restored to it's original state.
How will the Soul Orb be like now?
