Zero stayed in Lianne's office after she had left.

He needed to think and this was a good place as any.

Away from people, sound-proofed and comfortable. 

Responsibilities.

Duty.

Loyalty.

He took all of these seriously.

Which was part of the reason why he was so conflicted as well.

Ever since he found out about his past, he had been upset.

Very, very upset.

Now, he was faced with responsibilities, duties, and loyalties that did not stem from his life experience but from his blood. 

Just because of who he is.

It rubbed him the wrong way.

He would lay down his life for Sir, because of what Sir had done for him.

He had no doubt he would be the same for his mother - if he had been by her side from the start.

To be told that this is what he ought to do - no, what he *must* do, simply because of who gave birth to him, made him reject it whole-heartedly.
