"For five hundred days you are going to observe him. Our catalyst should be prepared when the day comes."
The lady opens her eyes looking from the distance as Simon trains himself as a student in the Magic Academy.
"I do not think he will make it in time." She said to the voice that said to her earlier.
"If he cannot, make him one, make him a hero by your means!" The voice continues.
The lady does not look pleased with him as the chosen catalyst. He does not seem to have what it takes. She was guessing he was just a mistake that was chosen by the Cardinals. The people she despises the most in her existence. She returns to her realm and sees the Cardinals in their place at the Amethyst Palace.
"You are here? What business do you bring?" A Cardinal asked her.
"It is the subject your eminence... I believe that he doesn't deserve as the catalyst." She bowed down and protested.
"It is us who decided who we wish to become the catalyst. You and your brethren are to observe and help these catalysts define their purpose in this world." A Cardinal replied.
"The college of the Cardinals are the ones who decide the destiny of the people. For as long as these irregularities exists we cannot be assured of the balance of the world. We are to pacify and bring back the order that once belonged for the harmony of all!" The Cardinals in unison said.
"If that is your wish so be it..." The lady replied.
"How is the progress of your catalyst, Emmina?" A Cardinal asked.
"He is not doing quite as good. The truth is he never possess anything that could make him into a proper catalyst. He is just good at tinkering stuff and making bad decisions." She replied.
"You are to observe him but if he continues in his state you are free to interfere!" A Cardinal said in reply.
"These old fools, I despise them!" Emmina said to herself.
"Very well you are free to leave. But remember failure brings nothing but misfortune on you. Are we clear with each other?" The highest of the Cardinals asked.
"I understood the consequences of my actions your Eminence. I shall be off..." Emmina leaves the Amethyst Palace.
After she left the Cardinals began to talk to her back and said, "Of all the Prioress, why did you gave her the most difficult task?"
"He is different compared to most of the catalysts that was summoned." A Cardinal said.
One of the Cardinals added, "A failure perhaps, I see no future to him as a catalyst rather than a fodder needed to be replaced."
"Summoning is an expensive art. We wasted a lot of resources just to summon them in the land of dawn. Our agents are doing all they can to make this plan into fruition. Therefore we should proceed as planned." A Cardinal replied.
"Is she expected to fail?" The youngest of the Cardinals asked.
"Fate shall decide on that..." The oldest of the Cardinals said.
