Phantom Seeker

章 1: The Start

Prologue:

Boom!

Sound of explosions reverberated in the ears of the [Seekers] who chose to join the raid of the rank-S dungeon in City O.

The second attack force of the [Order of Knights Guild], seven of the top-ranked Seekers was gathered to conquer this [Dungeon] as soon as they can.

The [Resources] like, [Magic Crystals], [Monster Cores], [Ores] and others have been swept away from this dungeon so the Guild has finally decided that they need to close this dungeon away as fast possible.

Roar!

The aggressive roar of the [Ogre Emperor] stunned many of the [Magicians] who were chanting the next spell they wanted to cast. Its purplish-red and gigantic body opened its giant maw and all of a sudden the temperature got hotter than before.

"[Support Team] place defensive buffs on the [Tank Team], [Assault Team] ready yourselves, we'll attack after the next volley of [Fireballs]."

Swoosh!!

Boom! Boom!

Fireballs rained upon the Tank Team as they tried their best to hang on. The Support Team continuously buffed and healed them in what seemed like a never-ending cycle of attacks.

Everyone thought that this raid will be rough but no one would have guessed the boss of this dungeon will go berserk as soon it saw them enter the dungeon.

Everyone was already anxious that they will fail and result in their death. Everyone only has one life and being in a situation they were in it was only natural that they're anxious for what's to come.

However, everyone tried to remain calm as much as possible. Their hearts must never be clouded by the thoughts of death or else they will be overwhelmed by the Ogre Emperor's intimidation.

Fwoosh—

The rain of fireballs ended and the instant it did everyone prepared themselves for the kill.

The Assault Team stepped forward and made readied their weapons the Ogre Emperor stood there trap in an encirclement. Seekers initiated the usage of magic to strengthen themselves or use a skill to kill this unholy being.

"Char…"

However, before the command can be fully uttered a booming sound echoed inside the dungeon. No one predicted such a thing to happen because knew the Ogre Emperor has such a skill so in fear of receiving fatal damage the command was changed.

"Defend!! Something is coming!!"

The exhausted Tanks who thought that their jobs were done stood their ground once more as they readied themselves to take on the oncoming attack.

The Ogre Emperor's purple purplish red body changed once more as it banged its chest over and over again. From its original color, it became completely red to show that it was now completely enraged and berserk.

Graaaa!!

Winding up, the Ogre Emperor became a trapped beast as it tried to lash out and break out of the encirclement it was placed in.

Boom!!

It released a powerful punch that annihilated the line of Tanks and made the Supports and Magicians who were behind the Ogre Emperor completely unguarded for the upcoming second punch.

Many Supports and Magicians thought that they're already about to die, they closed their eyes as they heard a loud and ear piercing screech, Death was coming.

Skriiiiiiiiiiiii!!!

However, no attack came to them because the attack was not for them to take because it was for the Ogre Emperor.

Psh!!

Roar!!

The clear sound of flesh being cut in was heard and for those who had kept their eyes open the entire time saw a man clad in black moved like the legendary lightning beast as it made a clean cut on its left arm.

Roar!!

Its left arm was gone and rolled on the ground, the man who was clad in all black saw the Ogre Emperor moved once again as it tried to kill him in a single punch.

In contrast to his black clothes, the sword the man was using resembles that of a cloud and as if it was a floating cloud it followed the wind and created a line directed to the oncoming right arm of the Ogre Emperor.

Spurt!!

A fountain of blood spurted all over the dungeon as the other arm of the Ogre Emperor was separated to the body of the Ogre Emperor.

However, the man in black did not let up with his attack for even a single instant as he moved like the wind and used everything as his foothold to destroy the monster in front of him.

Roarrr!!

Tens to hundreds of slashes were made to the body of the Ogre Emperor, the man destroyed its body and made it looked like a lump of unwanted butchered meat.

All of its limbs were cut off and only its torso and head remained attached to its body.

Every Seeker present watched the man butcher the Ogre Emperor like some kind of master fighter and as they watch the clean beheading of the Ogre Emperor everyone knew that this man was someone who is experienced.

Many wanted to talk to the man who was clad in all black, however, the instant they saw the Ogre Emperor killed they did not have any choice but to hurry up and get out of the dungeon because the dungeon mysteriously closed quicker than normal.

Rumble!!

The man in black moved and disappeared from the area so fast that when the Order of Knights Guild came out of the dungeon they were unable to even have a glimpse of his shadow.

Everyone present that day marked the man in black as an expert who either has decades of experience or some lucky bastard who possesses a [Unique Skill].

However, not one of those guesses were true for the man in black was not an experienced Seeker nor was he a lucky son of a bitch.

[Main Quest: Ogre Killing]

Slay an Ogre King or Ogre Emperor: Complete (1/1)

Close five rank-S dungeons: Incomplete (3/5)

*Failure to complete this mission in three months will lead to the closing of the [Item Shop] for three months.

'I got some pretty good items from the item drop it's such a shame I had to close the dungeon before I can clean it up.'

Qin opened the map of the city with his system and tapped the rank-S dungeons' tab.

'There's a new one in City L, I'll head there right now.'

Swoosh!

He is everything but lucky, however, because of his unlucky life, he got something that changed his life.

However, his story started roughly six months before this incident.

Around a twenty years ago the first ever [Spatial Rift] appeared in the country of Japan and since then the number of Spatial Rifts grew and the way everyone calls them changed.

After five years [Spatial Rifts] or [Dungeons] became a hindrance and then a catastrophe for the world.

Monsters invaded us from beyond the dungeon, monsters that were only seen from fantasy books became real and wreak havoc in the world.

Major changes and land reformations occurred all over the world and after a short while, there're only four continents that are liveable by humans.

[North America], Half of [Asia], [Europe], and the [Africa] these four continents were the only ones that remained of the former world which we called earth.

However, from these reformations and destructions came great advancement in both technology and human evolution.

Inside the dungeons, there was [Monsters] of varying strength and for us humans to live in this new world we gain the strength by using what the dungeon brought to us and that is, [Magic].

We grew stronger the more we discovered more about what kind of entity [Magic] is and after another five years of living like rats humans rose to supremacy once again as Seekers began to emerge and started conquering the dungeons.

After ten years humans once again claimed the title as the top creature of the old and new world and at present, Seekers are the ones taking from the dungeons as humans thrive.

[New Asia], living in the old apartment building of the Lotus Street in City C, Qin got up from the cold hard ground when a rang sounded up inside his head.
