*First Person* *Day 18 of Pregnancy* <- Used for timeframe reference.
This is strange. I clearly died?
Matters not.
Sleep is sleep.
*Next Day*

"Push ma'am push!" Said a random nurse
"Say that one more time and I'll push a damn sword up your ass!" The soon to be a mother again said.
Nurse whimpers slightly in fear.
*pant, pant, pant*
"He's out!" Said another nurse.
The nurses on hand then begin to grab MC and clean him up and wrap him in a blanket.
"Give him here!" The mother said aggressively while yanking MC out of the nurse's hands.
"B-But Mis-"
*Mother gives glare*
*whimpers*
"Let's see this little boy that has been giving me so much trouble." The mother said.
'Red eyes, black hair. Looks like me. No resemblance to Tai. I'll do a blood test later to see if he is the father.' Thought the mother.
"Quail Branwen. That will be your name."
Saying that the mother got up, clothed herself, ignored the nurses' protest, and opened a portal and went to her tribe.
Once there, the mother immediately handed her son off to one of the nearby maids and then went to her housing unit and immediately slept.
=-= 1st Person POV Quail =-=
"One month, forest, live. Prove worth."
Although slightly shocked my mother, Raven, basically told me to live in a Grimm invested forest for one month alone while I'm only like what 5? Not to mention she only just started training me a year ago.
But once I thought it through my mind, Mother probably would be in Raven form watching over me sometimes.
I think.
Anyways, picking up the knife Mother threw on the ground to me, I walked into the forest with my knife in a reverse grip while having it steady at a shoulder length with my elbow bent.
Whilst attempting to maintain a calm and steady mind, I ran through countless simulations in my head and trying to predict where the Grimm will come from.
It was a habit from my past life, always running simulations no matter the situation.
Not only that, but I was constantly looking around at my surroundings whilst also maintaining and looking out for any noises.
*rustle*
Hearing noise, I immediately positioned my self towards the noise with my legs bent down a bent in a fighting stance. My left hand extending outwards while my right was close to my chest in an open hand.
My left hand was dominant so that was the hand my knife was held in.
Standing there for a whole minute under pressure was exhausting, but it was better than turning my back away from the noise.
*rustle*
I snap my head behind me while throwing my back leg straight out and hitting the lunging targets straight in the face.
I then look forward only to see a paw swiping towards me, so I ducked and countered an attack by plunging my knife into the elbow of the beast.
Before going any further as I know I am being surrounded by my front and back, I ran to the side and attempted to get on top of a tree.
As the currently two beasts were preoccupied with their injuries and slight shock from the sudden attack, that had left me enough time to run up a tree by running up the side and then when I started to fall, I stabbed my knife in the tree with barely enough force to stick it in.
From there I gripped a nearby steady enough looking branch before leaving my knife there and using my left hand to climb on other branches.
Once I was secure/high enough on the tree, I tried to calm my beating heart and assess my situation.
Looking below me, I could see the two beasts, now wolves, that I had injured, one limping with a bleeding front leg, and the other with a slightly bruised looking snout.
Not only that, but a whole pack had come around and stalked my tree. A total of 6 adults sized wolves.
Great.
Luckily, I could barely reach my knife and was able to retrieve it.
Looking around at my tree, I grabbed a sturdy looking branch and carefully sawed it off with the serrated teeth at the lower end of my knife.
I also made sure not to make my self fall off my branch, so I really took my time sawing the branch off.
From there, once that branch was off, I sharped the tip of the branch into a spear life point.
I then continued to cut off more branches and sharpen them.
With the branches that were sharped, I tucked them under my armpits, as I had no place to put the 3 feet tall branches.
Which fun fact, are about as tall as I am.
And most 5-year-olds are around 3.5 feet.
So I'm pretty short standing at 3 feet.
Anyways, with five branches that are sharpened (couldn't make more cause I ran outta room) I began to formulate a plan in my head.
And considering how most my plans fail, in gaming anyways, I'm a little skeptical. But then again, most of my plans could be considered intricate and the skill ranking I play at in my past life wasn't that high anyway, so the enemy was less likely to pull something that high skill of a plan off.
Not boasting or anything really.
Just slightly pissed on how the enemies players always go the easy route instead of going a more intricate route, that has a higher success plan.
But then again, the minds of human beings are really fickle and such.
Back to the pack of wolves right below my feet.
For my plan, I need more sticks and a place to have my sticks stay in the meantime.
So I did what I could and stacked my five sticks, with them horizontal and piled against the corner of my branch that connects to the trunk.
And to hold them in place, I just held my foot there.
Actually, I really wish I thought of that earlier.
Anyways carrying on, I had my knife placed horizontally in my mouth while my right hand is holding the truck, or what I could hold, and my left hand breaking nearby branches off.
With the significant amount of random wood I had in my hands, I started to accurately chuck all of them down at the group of wolves at once.
And by accurate I mean to just throw them down with full force and no aim.
While the branches were falling, I quickly grabbed the makeshift spears and was ready to throw them.
As I predicted, a few of the wolves, mainly 3 which I assume to be young, snapped at and attempted to lunge for the branches.
Taking advantages of one of the open mouths, I threw the spear with as much aim as I can and low and behold.
I missed.
Of course, I fucking missed, this ain't no game, and I ain't no Shroud.
Quickly grabbing another spear I threw it at another wolf open mouth and the wolf turned its head and body to the side slightly mid-air, and bite my spear in half.
Picking up another spear, I aimed it at a wolf that seemed to have its guard down and threw it towards its head.
Although I managed to slightly penetrate the head before it was removed by the wolves paw.
So that's one slight hit and two spears left.
At this point, I was about to jump down there and kill them in CQC. (Close Quarter Combat)
Which I did.
I leaped for a wolf, that was the furthest away from the pack and managed to stab it through its head and I used it's body as a landing pad to soften my fall.
Now only slightly injured, minus the bleeding hands that came from sawing the branches, the numerous scratches on my body from climbing the tree, and the most recent leg pain that came in heavy amounts of pain.
As the entire first year of Mother's training only amounted to body training, I had little skill to fight these wolves with.
Minus the decade of Tae Kwon Do, I learned from my last life, I was practically screwed.
Tae Kwon Do is mostly for self-defense and it's tailored for human combat.
Not combating fucking wolves.
While keeping my eye trained on the stalking eyes of the 5 wolves that were in front of me.
I bent down to pick up their fallen comrade's body.
As I had my knife in one hand and the other trying to pick up the dead wolf and the little amounts of energy I have now, I could barely pick it up.
(Going to assume that the people in Remnant, even civilians, are significantly stronger than ones from real life. So I'm going to bull shit and say Quail picked up a fucking 85-pound wolf with one hand. His right hand too. He a lefty remember.)
As soon as I picked up the dead wolf, the very much alive wolves rushed me.
So I used the dead wolf to batter aside the first upcoming wolf and that sent me flying from the sheer force.
And refusing to submit and die, I got up on my wobbly legs and my spinning head was barely able to register the next wolf, which I instinctively threw the dead wolf at, knocking the alive wolf of course and spinning to the side.
Using the open space, I rushed forward with the knife, only to avoid the bite to my face, by sliding on my knees. While I was passing under the wolf, I brought my knife upwards and cut a line through its stomach.
That's two I need to worry about currently now.
With both the wolves flanking me on the side and rushing straight towards me. I stood still and waited for the moment.
That said moment was 3 seconds before getting bite to pieces and I ducked underneath, letting the wolves hit each other dead on.
Taking this opportunity, I took my knife and without hesitation and slit it across both of their throats.
Now positioning myself against a tree, I waited for the next two wolves to rush me.
With one of them coming from my right and another coming straight at me, I waited until they got closer, and jumped back onto the tree behind me, and used that as a launch pad and threw myself into the wolf coming towards my right.
As I was flying towards the wolf to my right, I brought my left leg and did a mid-air roundhouse kick towards the head and managed to knock it to the right and me to the left which brought me behind both wolves.
Taking the opportunity of the dazed kicked in the face wolf, I lunged and attempted to stab it, but it raked it claws against my stomach and against my hand, cutting deep into both. And fling my knife away
With my left hand useless and my blood flowing from my stomach, I didn't think I was gonna make it be honest.
The other wolf rushed towards me and I was barely able to duck.
At this point, I was done.
Time to go ape shit.
"PURGE THE HERETICS!" I screamed while rushing towards one of the wolves and bit into its throat and ripped its throat apart.
Now turning to face the last wolf, I growled like a wild animal.
And I probably looked like one too with the whole red eyes, blood dripping from mouth, blood dripping from really anywhere actually.
Now I and the wolf were in a standstill.
"IS THAT HERESY I SMELL!?" I roared once again.
And at the same moment, both I and the wolves rushed each other with one bearing its claws while the other beared its human teeth filled with meat and blood with the other's kind.
And since the wolf had it's stomach exposed, I launched myself feet first into the stomach of the wolf and straddled its body with it upside down.
My balls now hurt.
And while it raked its claws against my back, I bite into its throat and used the top of my head to keep the jaw closed and away from me.
Once it was killed, my entire mind and eye surveyed the area once more before using my last energy to move away from the blood smelled field, which will no doubt attract other beasts.
As I walked and walked away, I couldn't help thinking that this was so far my first day into the month-long journey.
Finally collapsing from the pain and blood loss, the only thing I was able to see last was the barely visible transparent glow coming from my body.
=-=-=-==-=
Quail could've done a better job at fighting and planning, but he was slightly panicking remember, as this is his first life and death battle.
The 'battle' before he was reincarnated couldn't even be called a fight as he had a gun then and it was basically a massacre, while here he has only his 5-year-old body and a knife against a pack of wolves.
Anyways this is the rewrite combo of my other novel Duper in RWBY and Forgotten Gunner.
There are going to be some major changes and basically, this might seem like a whole new book tbh.
