Yue Ling burst into her home, tears streaming down her face. She collapsed onto her bed, overwhelmed by the weight of her actions. How could she face Mo Shira now? She knew he might be furious, but she couldn't bring herself to reveal the truth in front of everyone, breaking their hearts. Now, she had hurt the one she loved, and Mo Shira's family was quarreling with him for no reason. Mo Lin was also angry with him for forcing her back at the office, and she couldn't even defend him. What kind of person was she?
Yue Ling's thoughts swirled as she sat on her bed, her phone suddenly lighting up with an incoming call from Mo Lin.
"Hey, Ling. I want to apologize on behalf of Mo Shira," Mo Lin said, her voice soft and soothing. "I know he forced you, but you don't have to be scared. You have our whole family's support."
Yue Ling's voice trembled. "Thanks, Mo Lin, but I'm the one who should be apologizing. I know your brother forced me, and I didn't love him then, but—"
Mo Lin interrupted, her tone reassuring. "It's okay, Ling. Don't worry. Mo Shira can't harm you. Just tell him who you want, and don't be scared. Grandpa said to tell you to take your time thinking this through. When you're ready to make a decision, come to the mansion, okay?"
Yue Ling felt a surge of frustration. "Mo Lin, you're not listening! I need to explain—"
But Mo Lin had already hung up, leaving Yue Ling feeling more trapped than ever. She realized that she needed to find a way to make her voice heard and confront the truth, no matter how difficult it seemed.
Yue Ling dialed Jiang Yanran's number, seeking guidance. "Hello, Yanran. I need your advice."
Yanran's voice was warm and concerned. "Ling, what's wrong? You sound like you've been crying."
Yue Ling sniffled. "I have, Yanran. I'm in a mess."
Yanran's tone turned sympathetic. "Tell me everything."
Yue Ling poured out her heart, sharing the entire story. Yanran listened attentively, her expressions of shock and disbelief evident even over the phone.
When Yue Ling finished, Yanran exclaimed, "Ling, how could you do that to Mo Shira? You know he has a short temper, but you should stand by your love, not worry about what others think!"
Yue Ling hesitated. "So, you think I should go against his mom and grandpa?"
Yanran's response was blunt. "Dumb ass, do you love Mo Shira?"
"Of course, I do!"
"Then, do you love Mo Jihnu?"
"No, I only see him as a brother."
Yanran's voice was firm. "Problem solved! You don't have to go against anyone. Just tell the family you love Mo Shira and explain everything. They might be angry initially, but they'll come around. You're not thinking clearly, Ling. You shouldn't play with people's hearts like that."
Yue Ling's doubts lingered. "But they've done so much for me... I don't want them to be angry with me."
Yanran's tone turned stern. "So, you want to divide the family? Can't you think, Ling? I want the best for you, and I know you can make the right decision."
The line went dead as Yanran ended the call, leaving Yue Ling feeling more lost than ever.
"Hello? Hello?... Oh God, please guide me to make the right decision. I don't want to hurt anyone. What should I do now?"
Yue Ling's thoughts raced as she paced back and forth in her room, desperate to find a way out of the mess she'd created. But her thoughts were interrupted by the incessant knocking at the door, growing louder and more menacing by the second. Her heart raced with fear as she approached the door, her feet feeling like lead. She peered through the peephole, and her blood ran cold.
Mo Shira's eyes blazed with a fierce intensity, his face twisted in a mix of anger, hurt, and frustration. He had been drinking since he left his family's mansion, trying to dull the pain Yue Ling had inflicted upon him. But the alcohol only seemed to fuel his emotions, making him feel more agitated and restless.
As he stood in front of Yue Ling's door, he could feel his heart racing with anticipation and fear. What would she say to him? Would she even open the door? He thought about all the possibilities, his mind racing with scenarios.
When Yue Ling finally opened the door, Mo Shira's eyes locked onto hers, searching for any sign of remorse or explanation. But her eyes seemed empty, devoid of any emotion. He felt a surge of anger and hurt, his grip on her arms tightening as he shook her.
"Why did you do that, Yue Ling? Why did you humiliate me in front of my family? Why did you lie to me?" he demanded, his voice cracking with emotion.
Yue Ling's heart raced with fear, her mind reeling with the consequences of her actions. Mo Shira's eyes burned with a deep pain, his tears falling like rain. She knew she had hurt him, and her heart ached with regret.
"I... I was scared," she stammered, her voice barely audible.
Mo Shira's grip tightened, his eyes blazing with intensity. "Scared? You were scared? You have no idea what I've been through, what I've felt. You've ripped my heart apart, Yue Ling."
His words cut through her like a knife, and she knew she had to face the music. She had to find a way to make things right, or risk losing the love they shared forever.
Mo Shira's thoughts flashed back to their time together, the memories he had cherished now tainted by her betrayal. He remembered the way she smiled at him, the way her eyes sparkled when she laughed, the way her touch ignited a fire within him. But all of that seemed like a distant dream now, replaced by the harsh reality of her deception.
As he looked into her eyes, he saw a glimmer of fear, a hint of regret. But it was too little, too late. The damage was done, and Mo Shira couldn't help but wonder if their love was even worth fighting for.
"I thought we had something real, Yue Ling," he said, his voice heavy with sorrow. "I thought we shared something special. But I guess I was wrong, the love has always been one sided. "
Mo Shira's thoughts swirled with conflicting emotions, his heart aching with the realization that he might lose the love of his life. He had promised himself he wouldn't force her into anything, but the pain and anger were overwhelming him.
