章 21: Shimmering Revenge

After the incident with Anita and his mother, Richard had always locked his room. He didn't have anything to hide, but it was his safe haven. He wasn't going to allow anyone inside unless he completely trusted the person.

Skylar knew this, even though he never said it, but it wasn't hard to figure out. Lots of habits he had when she had first arrived was a defence or protective mechanism he had cultivated over time which included the lack of staff, the sophisticated security team, his refusal to eat what she cooked etc.

A lot had changed since then. Now, Richard hardly ate out, and she didn't know when he stopped locking his room. She wondered if it was only a mistake or if he trusted her. The chances of it being a mistake were slim because he had always been mindful of it. The thought of Richard trusting her made her stomach flutter. She wanted to hug him tight and never let go, but before that, she was going to get her revenge on him.

Richard always said things to make her blush like a schoolgirl. He embarrassed her constantly, and she was going to return the favour.

Richard woke up that morning in a good mood. His only wish was that Skylar was by his side. He respected the fact that she didn't want her personal business to overshadow her job. Richard didn't really care about that; he could give her enough money to last for the rest of her life, but he knew she wouldn't want that.

After preparing for work, he went to the kitchen and found Skylar making breakfast. He kissed her on the cheek and sat on a stool.

"How was your night?" She asked, setting a plate of pancakes before him.

"It was lonely, I wished you were there," he replied with a smile.

"Shut up and eat boss."

"I love it when you call me that."

"I know." Skylar smiled back at him.

They ate together while discussing random topics. When they finished eating, Skylar cleared the plates while Richard got ready to leave.

"Go ahead, I'll bring your suit to the car," Skylar offered.

As he headed out, Skylar ran to her room and brought out the suit she had sneaked from his wardrobe the night before. She handed it to Richard in the garage and bade him goodbye.

Everyone had a smile on their faces all day. Some of them were struggling to hold their laughter. Richard had no idea what was going on, but he wasn't bothered. He went through lots of documents and had a few virtual meetings. His day was going pretty well, and he couldn't wait to get back home to Skylar.

When he was done for the day, he packed up his briefcase and made to leave. When he passed by his door, he noticed a light glistening. Curiously, he turned around to see where it came from, but he didn't find anything. It wasn't until he was passing through the large glass doors of the building that he saw it. He quickly took off his suit. On the back, it had the words "I'm sexy, and I know it" written with pink and purple glitter.

Skylar was setting up dinner in anticipation of Richard's return from work. When she heard the sound of his car approaching, she smiled and couldn't wait to welcome him. She had forgotten about the prank she played on him, which was why she was confused when he showed up with a frown on his face.

"Hey, what's wrong Rich?" she asked sincerely, checking his temperature with her palms for fever.

"This," he raised the shimmering suit, "this is what's wrong."

Skylar saw her masterpiece in Richard's hands and busted into laughter.

"Hey, it's not funny!" Richard protested.

"Haha, it kind of is. How long did you wear it until you found out?"

With a mumble, he replied, "The close of work."

Skylar erupted into laughter once more. She held her stomach and wiped a lone tear from her eyes. "Oh my God, I can't believe it. Haha!"

Richard couldn't help but admire the woman laughing at his expense. The way the corner of her eyes crinkled, the way she tried to get words out in between laughter, the way she threw her head back in wild abandon. Richard couldn't help but smile. Dropping the suit, he reached for her and kissed her ferociously.

Their lips moved against each other in perfect synchronisation. Hands touching, feeling and grabbing. Skylar impatiently tore off the buttons to Richard's shirt, while Richard helped her take off her t-shirt.

"Do you want to do this?" Richard asked. He wanted it, but he was willing to wait till she was ready, however long it may be.

Panting with eyes filled with lust, she replied, "Yes Richard. Yes, I want this."
