章 2: Game on

Skylar changed her clothes after arranging her belongings, then she went to the main house to know if Richard wanted anything. As she entered the house, she realized that she didn't know her way around.

The mansion was big and spacious, making sounds echo in them. She noticed there were lots of doors and corridors but she didn't know what was behind the doors as she was not given a tour when she arrived.

She climbed the stairs and wandered around, observing the majestic house. She was so lost in her quest that she did not notice the man staring at her with a scowl.

"Are you a thief?" The unexpected sound of the voice startled Skylar that she nearly jumped. She turned around to see Richard standing by a door post with his arm crossed.

"What did you call me?" She asked. She could not believe that he just asked if she was a thief.

"Well, what do you call someone who is creeping around a place they are not supposed to be?" he asked.

"Someone who is lost because she wasn't given a proper tour of the building," she retorted.

Richard raised his eyebrows in surprise, he didn't expect such fire from someone who was staring at the floor while talking to his mother earlier.

If she's afraid of my mother, I'll make sure she's afraid of me too.

"I understand why you would get lost, it's your first time out of the jungle," he said as he saw the corner of her eyes twitch in anger and he smirked. Pointing at the door where he stood, he said "This here is my room which you'll have the privilege of cleaning, and the kitchen is downstairs, end of tour, bye."

Skylar could not believe the arrogant handsome devil just insulted her. She was trying to hold back her anger because she needed the job. She wouldn't want him to give a negative report to his mother.

"That's it?, I'm supposed to open every door to find the kitchen?" She asked and he shrugged. She took a deep breath as her nose flared.

"OK, what do you want for lunch Richard?"

"It's Mr Richard to you, order some pizza, pepperoni to be precise. here's some money."

"I can cook you know," She told him as she received the money.

"I'll try your poison another time, for now make my order. Do you understand?" he asked. Skylar was fuming with rage but she refused to argue with him. She couldn't wait to leave his presence.

"Yes"

"Yes what?" He asked, cupping his ear with his hand as if he couldn't hear her.

"Yes Mr Richard."

"You know what? I change my mind. Call me boss," Richard ordered with a satisfying smirk on his face.

"Yes boss." Skylar said with her teeth gritted together. She couldn't believe she had to work for such an annoying jerk.

She couldn't let him treat her that way without retaliating. He held her employment in his hands, so she must tread carefully. She just had to look for a way to get back at him without breaking the rules of her employment.

She needed loopholes and she must find them. Just then, a thought came to her head and she smiled evilly. Alright Richard, game on!
