The old uncle in question was Jae's biological uncle, her mother's older brother who was the one who encouraged her in her chosen career being a doctor himself. It was just lately, since her stepfather got sick, Dr. Choi had been trying to convince Jae to give in to Han Kang Woo's wish for Jae to take over his company since her stepfather and mother failed to have children between them, making Jae the only possible heir to the business empire.

Jae didn't like it one bit. She'd worked her ass off since college and she refused to give up her dreams and take over the business she didn't want.
