After minutes ticked by and a few birds flew passed the beautiful sunset colored sky, Ya Nuo reminded her, "We're eagerly awaiting for your response. We have all the time in the world. Hei can go back and grab a camping tent, some snacks, and fluids to drink. We can hike right in your way. This way, nobody is going anywhere. What do you say?"
Her patience was reaching her highest level of tolerance. In fact, the first day going back to school plus the contributions of the chaotic mess after school made her feel fatigue. She felt like her eye bags and dark circles would come to haunt her if she continued forcing herself to stay awake. Normally, Ya Nuo is not the type of dwell on an unresponsive person and question, but today, she decided to remain stubborn.
"You can remain silent. We will accompany you. I'm just reminding you that we don't know where the two men escaped off to. If they belong to a mafia, or underground gang, and decide to come back with their buddies later to test their luck, then we will be doomed. Also, if they went back to report to Gu Wing and told her that they saw you here last, did you think she would let you off easily? Or would she be more careful to track your location?" Ya Nuo was quite great at shaping someone's mind and leading their noses in different directions when she wants an answer from them.
Ya Nuo smiled indifferently, "Their target is you. Don't forget that we were coincidentally passing by and decided to interfere with the assassination plot. If those people come back to look for you, we will step aside and let them do whatever they want. I have no reason to help someone who wouldn't even let me know their identity. I also don't have a reason to interfere when we are just regular high school pedestrians right?" She fed on Mei Ching's worst fears and described multiple horrible scenarios to remind her what type of person Gu Wing truly is.
After Ya Nuo blabbed descriptively about several dismembered, slaughtered, and unknown bodies that were in the news recently, Mei Ching started to type, "Stop talking. I'll talk. I'll tell you what you want to know. Can we leave here first?" She bit her bottom lip anxiously as if staying an extra millisecond would make her lose a piece of flesh.
At a cafe nearby, Ya Nuo ordered a cup of warm milk for Mei Ching to hold and drink. She began her interrogation, "Who are you?"
Mei Ching took a few minutes and finally typed, "You need to promise me that you won't tell anyone about my identity and the things that I am about to disclose to you. If anyone ever finds out, they'll be in danger and you will be too. Understand?"
Huan Hei and Ya Nuo both nodded in response. Mei Ching's sudden tension and seriousness made the couple feel like there is a huge conspiracy behind her identity. They promised to never speak a word about what they are about to hear.
After a long silent sigh, Mei Ching typed, "I am Chen Ying Ying."
The couple didn't give any response because they already suspected her identity. Ya Nuo was the first to realize that something seemed abnormal about her after they rescued her from the mansion.
During their previous date, Ya Nuo texted and wrote on Huan Hei's hand, and questioned about Mei Ching's identity. She already had Huan Hei secretly take Mei Ching's used cups or any object that she was in contact with to an examination lab to match her fingerprints with Chen Ying Ying's.
The lab report came back positive, indicating that her fingerprint matched Chen Ying Ying's. Huan Hei told her the lab results during their engagement party.
Ya Nuo continued, "You were the one who scared Gu Wing using those wall decorations, correct?"
NOTE: *** From this moment onwards, I am switching Mei Ching's name to Chen Ying Ying***
Ying Ying nodded, "I prepared them and tricked my friend into thinking that there were missing plates for your party. I got engaged at the same place so when I knew that your occasion is set on that place, I couldn't help but test my luck."
"Why did you risk it? Just for a prank? Did she find out that you were the one who made her into a joke so she hired people to come after you?" Huan Hei interrupted.
Ying Ying's body trembled and her dried lips were bit until the skin broke and blood stained her colorless lips red, "I need to make her suffer. I want to see her crying and going crazy for all the stuff that she's done to me! She's only receiving a preview of a fingernail size of her retribution. You two can ask me, however many questions you want, but I can't tell you much about what really happened back then. I'm sorry, but I can't drag anyone else with me. You two are a great young couple and have a long way to go. My conscience wouldn't allow such risk." She maintained her serious expression.
Ya Nuo nodded, "You persuaded me to not continue asking about the story from years ago. I won't question why you are alive, yet hiding. For now, I am satisfied with your answers. I can tell that you aren't a scheming person, especially towards people who helped you. You have two options right now. Choose wisely."
Ying Ying nodded and waited patiently for Ya Nuo to list out the two ideas. Ya Nuo knew that she had Ying Ying's full attention, so she resumed, "First option is to tell your family that you got a new job, and from now on, you'll be living under my care. I will ensure your safety and protect you for until you decide you want to leave. The second option is to go back to your home and pretend whatever happened today never took place. If any attack happens again, you'll take whatever the heck those people want to do with you."
Of course Ying Ying wasn't dumb enough to choose the second option, but she didn't want to go for the first option either. She was not optimistic about the first option because she had many secrets that she was afraid of accidentally slipping out. Out of the two, she couldn't choose a third route because she knew that she had no other choice, but to hide. Rather than trying her best to escape from the wraths of an evil monster, she might as well live under someone's protection.
After backspacing and retyping several times, she finally made up her mind, "First option. I'll be in your care. But you also ahve to promise me a few things. I need to make this clear before anything else."
