Zhou Lengxin did not look away from his burning gaze.
"Senior, I'm under the impression that you like me, am I wrong?"
"What makes you think that, la?
She clicked her tongue at him.
"Your behavior is different from your usual M.O."
"You sound you know how I operate well."
"I hear enough about your reputation."
"Rumors aren't necessarily true." He faced forward and stepped on the accelerator as the light turned green.
"Hmm... So are you saying you aren't a handsome second-generation heir who is not lacking in any aspect?"
He let out a low chuckle, "I am certainly lacking in many aspects, but I'm flattered that that's how you perceive me."
"You haven't answered my original question." Zhou Lengxin suddenly realized that he ended up manipulating the conversation away from it.
"Let me ask you something first, do you like me?"
"Of course not." She didn't even hesitate.
"Why not? Didn't someone just say I'm a handsome second-generation heir who is not lacking in any aspect?"
"Wasn't me. Plus, I don't even know you."
"Oh, okay. So, are you fine with Chinese cuisine?"
"What?" The topics were changing so fast, she couldn't keep up.
"I'm taking you out to dinner, can't you tell this isn't the way to Imperial?"
Zhou Lengxin stared at him in amazement, she had never met someone so assertive.
"Didn't you say you didn't know me well? Well, I'm giving you a chance now."
How shameless could he get? Usually, if she treated men distantly, they would usually get the idea... but this guy is so damn persistent!
Xia Minghua silently cursed as he turned onto Main Street and it was during rush hour. The traffic was absolutely horrendous.
"Haish, maybe I shouldn't have so ambitious on the first date."
'Date? So it was a date now?!'
But then he turned from dejected to perky again.
"But now we have some extra time, it's still early."
The vehicle barely moved since there were so many cars.
"Huh, where should we start? I'm Xia Minghua, 'ming' as in 'bright' and 'hua' as in 'spendid', male, 23-years-old, 189 cm, studying Business and Finance postgraduate at Imperial University." Xia Minghua sounded like he was applying for a job. Which, in a sense, the position of the boyfriend was very much open.
To Zhou Lengxin, it sounded like a blind date, it kind of felt like a blind date. She felt extremely awkward being stuck in a car with virtually a stranger who appeared to be hitting on her.
"I already told you the basics, shouldn't you give something in return?"
Xia Minghua may appear as if he was very experienced in chasing girls, but his knowledge was very limited.
The whole time he played it cool, but his palms were actually sweating profusely as his gripped the steering wheel.
He would be lying if he said he didn't feel the slightest bit hurt when she said she didn't like him with complete conviction, but it's not like one could control such feelings. Thus, he needed to expose himself to her to develop such said feelings.
Did he know if his plan would work? Absolutely not.
But since fate had given him another chance, why shouldn't he take it?
But right now, he still needed to wait for Zhou Lengxin to respond to him.
"Zhou Lengxin, 'leng' as in 'cold' and 'xin' as in 'heart', female, 21-years-old, 170 cm, and music major at Imperial."
Xia Minghua's face split into a wide smile.
Here's a chapter now since I'll be a bit busy this week.
