Winter is probobly the harshest season there is. Winter was always a life or death struggle for humans in the past. Any place that snowed would become a frozen wasteland. The best part of winter is definitely skiing and snowboarding. Aside from that, it is a really inconvenient season.
For example, there's a whole lot less daylight during winter. I wouldn't even be able to differentiate 5 pm from 2 am.
Snow is always depicted as this awesome white fluffy nice material, but that's not the whole truth. It's only fresh snow that is super fluffy, once it's been out overnight, it'll become really hard. Additionally, only fresh snow is really beautiful and nice. After a while it'll turn into a dirty slush substance (snow on roads and sidewalks). Snow also makes it really obvious that dogs like to piss everywhere.
If it snows, you have a responsibility to shovel your driveway and sidewalk portion, which isn't exactly fun to repeat multiple times every day.
The best snowballs are made barehanded, since you'll eventually be left with a very solid chunk of ice. However extended direct contact with snow is really painful. A freezing pain that is really similar to a burning pain.
I should also point out the HUGE influx in sick people.
