章 5: Firefly
I couldn't believe this finally happened. It was a total coincidence.
I offered to walk the kid home and actually get to know him a little. I don't see him around much, and not much to know I guess.you only here rumors about his family and how odd they are. No one ever explained how though.
We were walking in silence while he was leading the way.
"Why did you want my number?" I heard him say. I looked at him. His stopped in his tracks. His stance changed. His hands fidgeting behind his back and head hung low.
"Well, I wanted to get to know you."
"Oh." Then he continued to stay silent. "That simple of an answer?" He chuckled.
"What's your name? I never really knew."
"Oliver." His gaze was focused on his feet.
"Aww. Cute."
"Oh- um thanks."
"It fits you. You seem to wear green a lot.ike a giant olive."
Oliver flashed a grin. Admittedly a cute one.
I quickly turned my head away to hide my red face. Might as well ask him now, I thought.
"Wanna go on a date?"
"What?!" He exclaimed, in utter shock.
"Uh... sorry I shouldn't have sai-"
"No," he interrupted, "it's fine.", he paused for a second, avoiding my questioning gaze, "I don't mind, in fact, I wanted to get to know you, too."
"Maybe tomorrow at 8 would be a good time to do that?" I suggested to him. "At Brody Park?"
"Definitely."
