The two girls quickly reunited and returned to the training field outside of the town's walls, but not before Dana got an earfull from Melissa about leaving her behind. When that was over, they joined the others at the training area and Dana stood next to Mary, albeit with a little ringing in her ears from Melissa's shouting. She didn't comment ont though, she didn't want to get another earfull.
"Alright everyone," Bratt behan, "it looks like everyone's here so let's start with warming up. Dana, since you seemed to have it a little too easy yesterday I have a some training weights for you so it'll still be at least a little challenging."
Upon his words, some chuckles were heard but nobody noticed the strange glint in Melissa's eyes while there was a savage grin on her face.
Dana suddenly felt a chill on her back. She quickly turned around but saw nothing out of the ordinary. 'Am I getting sick? Please don't, I just started training.'
Melissa on the other hand, was thinking the exact opposite. 'I got those weights just a little while ago when I ready and she already earned them! Ah! I can't wait to be able to fight her! I've got to ask Instructor Bratt to introduce battle between us so I can fight her!'
And while Dana was getting more cold sweat by the second, she retrieved the weights from Bratt and started running with the rest.
'He was right! Things are indeed more challenging with these! This'll be good training!' Dana mused.
Bratt however was getting a cold sweat at the side of the field. 'How can she still move so easily!? Those weight are designed for professional soldiers! I just wanted to see if she could handle it but they seem just right for her.'
After they were done with warming up, Bratt spoke to Dana. "So, did you get a pair of training gauntlets from the Guild?"
This immediately earned him a smile from Dana and a chuckle from Melissa, and while he wondered what that was about Dana picked up a bag from the side of the field and took a pair of pitch-black, shiny, metal gauntlets out of it. Bratt's mouth fell open upon the sight of this.
'What the hell?!! Those are made of solid steel and should be around her own weight! Why was that even in the training gear area?! *Sigh* Who am I kidding, what did I even expect. I have only known her for two days and my common sense is already failing me.'
"*Sigh* Alright. Dana, Who gave you those gauntlets?" he asked with a tired smile.
"Hmm? It was a really nice man named Alan! At first he looked really scary but he was really kind to us and even gave me these gauntlets becaue I was a fellow Pugilist." she responded whille smiling, not noticing his facing growing stranger with every word she said.
'Goddamnit Alan! Those aren't just something you cassually lend out you fool!'
"Any particular reason why he gave you 'those'?" he asked her while he desperately tried to keep his face from convulsing.
"Well, at first he gave a few other pairs of gauntlets but they were just too light for me, I could hardly feel them! Then he gave me these saying I owe a favor and that I was 'going to have quite the name in the future'. Wonder what he meant by that..."
'Huh, so she managed to catch Alex's attention did she.... Guess she has a knack for it then. That explains the fact he gave 'those' to her.'
"Very well, let's begin. I'll start by showing Dana some beginner's stances, the rest can practice their own. After I hac shown her the ropes, I'll come and correct any mistakes in your postures as always."
"Yes sir." everybody responded.
"Now then. Dana, remember what I said yesterday about throwing your punches? It'll be a lot easier with the weight of the gauntlet behind it and if you got the techique right, they correct themselves. Punch at about the same height as your shoulders, you don't necessarily need to hit the opponent's face. No, more like this..."

"Sir, can I ask a question?"
After training, just when Bratt wanted to go to the Guild to talk to Alex, he was stopped by Melissa.
"What is it Melissa? You got a question?" he asked.
"Yes. I was wondering if we could gain more experience fighting by having mock-battles with eachother." she continued.
'Hmmm, that is true. I can correct their posture and tell them about my experiences all I want but they still got to experience the fight themselves to truly grasp it.'
"Good point, I'll see what I can do and ask for permission from Father Alexander. Thank you for the suggestion, Melissa."
She smiled and walked away towars the orphanage. He failed to see the bloodthirsty grin on her face.
'Yes! Now I only need Father Alexander to agree and I can fight with her all I want! This is going to be fun!'
She ran back, almost skipping due to her happiness.

Dana was walking through the hallways of the orphanage when Father Alexander called her out.
"Dana, can I speak to you for a second please?"
"Of course Father."
"I wanted to talk about how your training was going. Are you doing alright?"
"Hmmm... At first it was easy, but then Instructor Bratt gave me training weights so now it got a little bit harder. Oh! And I got a pair of really cool gauntlets and I met a nice man named Alex at the Adventurer's Guild who is a pugilist as well."
"I see. I just spoke with Bratt and he told me you were ready to begin your throwing knife training."
"Really?! Awesome! When do we start?"
"Patience Dana. We'll start tomorrow after the morning duty. I'll inform Bratt that you'll be a little later. Is that fine for you?"
"Of course! See you tomorrow Father!"
And with that she ran bak to the sleeping quarters, leaving Father Alexander behind. He too returned to his office to finish some paperwork.
After a while, someone knocked on his door so he looked up from the papers on his desk.
"Come in." he said while putting his pen down. "Bratt, good timing, I was actually wanted to talk to you about something. Come sit." He stood up and gestured to the couches in front of his desk before sitting down as well.
"So, what did you want to talk about?" Bratt asked.
"Ah, I wanted to ask if it was possible to let Dana begin training later. I wanted to teach her how to use throwing knives after morning duty was over."
"Hmmm, yeah that's fine. To be honest, I don't think she can train her body strength with conventional methods with her monstrous body but I don't really want to potentially break her body in training."
"Thank you. Oh, and you don't really need to worry much about her body strength, it's more about how she controls it and her technique when using weapons. I heard she got a nice pair of gauntlets, didn't she?"
"*Sigh* Yeah, she did. If you hadn't noticed, she wants to be a Pugilist and because of her strength and stamina, regular gear won't cut it for her so Alan gave her those."
"Oh? Alan did? Interesting... What did you want to discuss with me, by the way?"
"Right, I wanted to ask you if I was allowed to stage mock battles between the trainees to have them experience fighting first-hand."
"Hmmm... Yeah, alright. I didn't really see why not. Just keep it moderate and without injuries."
"Of course, thank you."
"No problem, anything else?"
"No, that was everything. Have fun with the rest of your paperwork." He said that last bit with a teasing smirk on his face.
"Just shut up and get lost." Father Alexander responded while sighing and waved him out of his office.
