章 8: Lost And Found
The dark sky encompasses the city. Without a warm bed Shizumi wanders throughout the empty, dead streets.
A quiet almost unnoticeable rustle break the silence. As they getting closer it became louder and louder. It is coming from a large pile of ash in the alley.
-Alert Master!-
Shizumi take the gun from the belt and slowly and steadily approached the sound.
-Master i feel great magical power there! Stay Alert!-
As they approached the dump the sound intensified and changed to more like a snake's hissing sound. Shizumi located the sound and was ready for anything. The sound stopped.
Deadly seconds followed which seemed like years. After the brief seconds a new completely different sound started. A small child's crying. Shizumi put the gun back to its place and started digging. When she saw the youngling she became terrified. It was a small most likely not older than a few months old girl. She looked normal exept her lower half was a snake's body and she were covered in royal purple and gold colored scales. She seemed like some kinda jewel but not all of it just her hands are covered.
-Lamia. She is a demi-human...And they dumped her.-
-Why?-
-Demi-humans are born from normal humans. They consider them a bad omen and usually kill them. It became problem in Green Moon when most demi-humans are born. In these times streets filled with blood. It is Royal Sin to shelter a demi-human.-
Shizumi's looked at the frail being. The demi-human coiled herself into a defensive position if she could defend herself from anything. She tried to touch it but she bit.
-Ow! Hey! I want to save you!

-Can you talk?-
-Lamias are very inteligent. They learn at an almost instant. This why the Imperium so terrified of them. With proper education they can become anything.-

The girl started crying.
(Most likely i am the only one who ever treated her like this)
Shizumi put her hands to the ground allowing her to slither up and coil around her arms. The girl put her head gently on Shizumi's chest and went to sleep.
-What will be her name Master?-

As the Moon started to end his journey. They continued the journey in this lifeless place.
