samar's house
my parents and I reached samar's place. her mom and dad greeted us warmth and gratitude.
samar's parents were really sweet and suttle in nature. they were soft-spoken people. they were really fond of me. at that time they didn't Knew about Samar and my relationship but still they treated me with love.
samar's mom: Prerna beta I am really happy ur with Samar. I was really fond of you. I always had a thought of getting u and Samar married but who knew you both already made your own plans....beta I have nothing to ask you,i know you since childhood. I know what ur nature and qualities are.
samar's dad: beta we with all our heart accept you as our daughter in law.
hearing all this my mom and dad were teary eyed...they were happy that my in laws oh sorry I mean my future in laws loved so much. everything was perfect. i was really happy and so was Samar at least that's what I thought.
Prerna mom: Samar beta even I have nothing to ask you. you both were childhood friends and both us and Ur parents have seen you both growing from teenage to adult so I know about you too but only one thing I have to say to you. love only is not enough,you both should have complete trust on each other. and also you both have to respect each other. sometimes it's okay not to love each other all the time but when you respect each other,you both understand each other's situation and try to solve the problems. every marriage has problems and misunderstanding but when you trust and respect each other all of the problems fades away. Samar beta we have given our daughter what she wanted. Samar please keep my daughter happy. I don't ask anything from you but keep her happy. it is not easy for us to give our daughter to another person but we have to trust only our jamai Raja..she will fulfill all her responsibilities but you have to help her. you both have to look after each other neither your parents nor we can spoonfeed you and Prerna anymore.
Prerna dad: yes beta Shanti and I have raised our daughters in such a way that they have learnt to be warriors in life. she will never burden you with anything infact she'll share the responsibilities but you just have to co operate with her and be her support.
Samar: mom dad I will always keep Prerna happy. she is precious to me too... I'll always take care of her and support her.
Prerna: yes maa ji( samar's mom) and Papa ji(samar's dad) I will try my best to be a good wife and daughter in law...I will fulfill all my responsibilities towards you but maa ji I also owe responsibilities to my parents. maa ji I want to look after them too. they have no sons , but that doesn't mean we can leave our parents behind right? maa ji I won't ask and don't want anything else but please whenever my parents need me I will have to go. can I get the freedom of looking after my parents without any problem.... and if there's any problem then....I am sorry I..I can't marry..
samar's mom was literally staring at me for a long time...I was getting really nervous but I was adamant about my decision I can't leave my parents in situations where they need me...
samar's mom: Prerna we are really lucky to have you as our daughter in law. many people think that since they are girls they can't look after their parents... but why? it takes the same efforts to raise a girl child as a male child then why does a girl have to sacrifice her parents and why do parents have to leave their daughter behind....both son and daughter are equal in all aspects then they should also be equal in this aspect of taking care of their parents. Prerna you have all the freedom to look after your parents... infact you didn't have to ask infact no daughter should seek permission for taking care of her own parents... it's her duty just as son has.
