The driver was feeling embarrassed hearing all of this. If he had known the couple were going to be talking about their private life he would have closed the window that separated the driver's side from the back seat. But if he closed it now they would notice, and they might feel embarrassed.
But somewhere in the back of his head he found it refreshing to see the madame make such an expression. She was always so cold and straight-faced. Seeing this side of her made him happy that she had met Chang Wook.
He'll be sure to tell Mr. Oh that the couple are very loving towards one another.
Ha Eun was able to move her hands out of his grasps. Chang Wook raised his eyebrows at her. He started to lean in but Ha Eun pointed at him "Stay over there. Don't move any closer or your fired"
Chang Wook stifled a laugh "Really? You're still using that against me?" he smiled "That trick won't work on me anymore"
He crossed his arms over his chest and looked forward. He then noticed the window that separated the driver from them was open and the driver was looking at them through the mirror. The two of them even made eye contact.
The driver quickly looked back at the rode and Chang Wook looked out the window. Both acting like they didn't see each other. Chang Wook glanced over at Ha Eun, she was looking down at her feet, with her arms crossed around her chest. She was still embarrassed so he thought to himself that it would be best not to tell her that the driver saw them.
Once the car stopped, they were in front of a two-story house. It had many floor to ceiling windows, he could see the living room, half of the kitchen and even a bedroom that was on the top floor.
Ha Eun wondered where they were?
"Driver, this isn't my house" Ha Eun said. The driver nodded.
"It is now. Mr. Oh got it for the both of you as a wedding present" he said. Ha Eun and Chang Wook stared at each other, shocked. Chang Wook always thought of a wedding present as a toaster or kitchenware, not a whole house.
"You should look inside, its very pretty" the driver added.
Ha Eun was shocked by this. She never expected the lie she came up with on the spot would lead to an actual wedding and now getting an actual house.
Ha Eun crossed her arms over her chest and tried to calm down "Why can't that man ever do something simple? He always has to go to the extreme"
"Well, nothing we can do about it now" Chang Wook said to Ha Eun. He planned to get the bags from the trunk, but the driver said "You don't need to worry about that Sir, your bags and all your stuff from your previous apartment are all inside. Your's as well, Madame"
Chang Wook crinckled his eyebrows. What did he mean by all his stuff?
Once inside the house, the couple was shocked by what they saw. Flower petals on the floor and lit candles everywhere.
Chang Wook was impressed and even whistled "This is going to take a lot of cleaning" he said and blew out one of the candles. Ha Eun was surprised by how well he was taking this. But why wouldn't he be taking it well? He was married to the girl he liked and now he was going to live with her. All he had to do now was get her to fall in love with him.
Ha Eun went in the living room. There was a big plasma screen on the wall, a big white sofa with Mr & Mrs pillows, there were also framed pictures of the two of them as kids and even when they graduated University.
Chang Wook even noticed his video game console connected to the TV as well as his videogames stacked in a stand specifically for video games.
"I'm guessing this is what they meant when they said all of my stuff was here" Chang Wook said as he pointed at the pictures and his console.
"You play video games?" Ha Eun looked at him questioningly. Chang Wook felt a bit embarrassed by how she phrased the question. She sounded disappointed in him. "You're such a kid" she added.
Ha Eun looked around the kitchen. Chang Wook followed behind her. In the kitchen the tableware had the couples names and there were sets of two aprons as well as two cutting boards. As they continued to walk around the house they found that there was a small gym, a home theather and in the backyard there was a pool.
Ha Eun scoofed at that.
"They know I can't stand the water, yet they got us a house with a pool" Ha Eun said.
Chang Wook wanted to know what she meant by that. She first said she couldn't swim and now she said she hated the water. He was curious about her experience with the water. He was also curious about what she talked about with that guy while he was with Mr. Oh and Ji Seok, but he didn't want to make her feel uncomfortable.
They then headed upstairs. There were even more flower petals. They made a straight line towards the last room to the right. Ha Eun was a bit scared about what she would find after she opened that door.
It was a bedroom that had a king sized, canopy bed. The walls were a light grey. The bedroom had a chandelier, a bookcase, filled with books, a loveseat sofa and a coffee table. It also had a large vanity and the bathroom had two sinks, a shower and a bathtub.
Chang Wook was impressed with how the bedroom looked. It was pretty. He looked to the right and saw the drawing that they got together at the Cherry Blossom Festival. Chang Wook couldn't help but smile thinking about how they'll be sleeping in the same bedroom and living in the same house. His cheeks got a bit red just imagining sleeping in the same bed with her.
Ha Eun looked closely at how the flower petals led directly to the bed and there was a card on it.
She walked towards it and it read "Have fun" and it was signed by Mr. Oh. A smile appeared on Chang Wook's face. He glanced over at Ha Eun. Her expression was pricless. Her face was bright red. He decided to tease her.
"Mrs. Kim, what are you thinking about?" he whispered in her ear as he took the card out of her hands. She turned around to face him. She had forgotten he was behind her.
"Wha…what are you talking about?" she said, stuttering.
Chang Wook got closer to her which made her back away and lean on the bed. She didn't want Chang Wook to think that she was expecting anything like this when she blackmailed him into marrying her.
"Are you thinking about something indecent?" Chang Wook asked her.
Ha Eun lowered her head and extended her hands out so Chang Wook wouldn't get any closer "I swear I don't know what you're talking about"
Chang Wook noticed how even her arms were red. He thought he might have teased her too much. She was too reserved and, maybe even too shy to admit to having dirty thoughts.
"Silly girl" he said, then made his way to the bathroom.
Ha Eun looked over to the closed bathroom door and heard as the shower started to run. She quickly fell on the bed and moved from side to side, while kicking the air.
"Why am I so stupid?!" she yelled in a whisper "Letting him get me all flustered like that!" she got up fromt the bed and looked at herself in the vanity's mirror.
"Ha Eun you are better than this"
She hit her face with both her hands and decided to check the closet. As expected, it was divided between her clothes and his. There were glass cases in the middle, as she looked at them, they were either accessories like watches and ties for Chang Wook or earrings and necklaces for Ha Eun.
Once she turned around she saw a naked Chang Wook.
"Oh my God!" she yelled, covering her eyes and turning around. Chang Wook looked at her surprised. He was pretty well covered. At least all the important stuff was.
"Why are you naked?" Ha Eun asked.
"I didn't take any clothes with me" Chang Wook answered.
"Who told you to go take a shower before getting some clothes?!"
Ha Eun felt embarrassed that she was looking at his naked body. She tried to maintain eye contact, but her eyes would accidentally glance down. Even though it was covered, she couldn't help but imagine it.
Chang Wook noticed how Ha Eun's face turned red, he also noticed her eyes would move down, slightly.
He walked right past her into the closet "It doesn't take a genius to guess that all my clothes were in here, so I didn't bother getting a change of clothes" Chang Wook told her.
Ha Eun stayed by the closet's doorway and stared at Chang Wook. She didn't think he was that muscular and had a six pack. Seeing him with wet hair made him look even more sexy. Once she bit her lip she realized she was checking him out and she was enjoying it.
"Ha Eun, how could you be so shamless?!" she asked herself "He's my…well, he's my husband so there's nothing wrong with looking at him but the fact that we aren't in an actual relationship makes it feel wrong"
"You'll stare a hole right through my forehead" Chang Wook said. Ha Eun didn't realize he noticed her staring.
Chang Wook walked towards her and they were just inches away from each other "You know, you called me a pervert when I saw you in your underwear back then, but you're a bit of a pervert as well, aren't you?"
Chang Wook cornered Ha Eun against a wall. He placed one of his hands on the wall, while he held his change of clothes on the other.
Ha Eun couldn't believe this was the same Chang Wook that was her secretary a week ago.
"Chang Wook, what do you wish to accomplish by teasing me?" Ha Eun asked him.
Chang Wook was surprised by her question. He was expecting for her to blush even more and maybe even run away. He decided to answer seriously "I don't wish for much. I just want to see your different expressions. Expressions I never got to see when I was working for you."
"I want to get to know the Ha Eun that the tabloids don't show, the Ha Eun that no one sees during work, the Ha Eun that your family doesn't understand" Chang Wook paused "That's the Ha Eun I want to get to know"
Ha Eun felt her heart skip a beat. It took her a while to find out she was holding her breath. When she came to the realization she was already taking deep breaths.
"Are you okay?" Chang Wook asked her as he patted her on the back.
"What about me?" she asked as she composed herself "I want to know more of your expressions too!" her cheeks were red.
Chang Wook was surprised by her words. Did she mean she wanted to know more about him as well? He took that as a sign that she liked him but didn't want to get ahead of himself.
Chang Wook grinned at her then left to the bathroom once more. Inside, he looked at himself in the mirror and noticed his red face. He didn't want to look like a loser in front of Ha Eun. How can those simple words make his heart skip a beat? "Ha Eun, it seems that every day I like you more and more" he said in a whisper.
Ha Eun walked downstairs to the kitchen to get some water, then she realized the fridge was completely empty. She passed her hands through her hair and groand. She then started fanning herself. She felt her body grow hot.
She sat down on the table and pondered on everything that happened between them on their trip to Jeju Island. Their relationship had changed the moment she asked him to marry her. Their relationship changed the moment she met Mi Jin, their relationship changed the moment he took a flower petal out of her hair, their relationship changed when he saw her half-naked, their relationship changed the moment she talked with his father and unconsciously expressed her true feelings towards his son, and their relationship changed even more when they kissed.
Their marriage, their relationship, it was all supposed to be fake but Ha Eun could feel there is truly something between them… its somewhat vague, but there is something. Something that neither of them dared to say it out loud. But while they were pondering their true feelings for each other. A few people were planning on ruining whatever they had. People who would soon find out that it will prove more difficult than they expected.
This chapter is late because I've been suffering from a serious case of writer's block. I had no idea what to write, I had lost all inspiration.
I finally came back and hopefully you all like this new chapter.
We'll be seeing a new side to Chang Wook and find Ha Eun slowly letting down her walls and soon we'll get to see Ha Eun's backstory.
