Who will die? Who will live? Read this chapter to find out there bruh. Esketit.
----------------
It was a slice between anger, bewilderment, and sadness. Miki and Asami were literally in their hands, but also dying from their act of survival. Hansuke and Kenji didn't know what to do. Where they playing a trick on them? For the graduation? For the trial? This was all a dream right?!?!?!?
Kenji stood speechless, staring into the eyes of Asami who held the blade of his sword. Kenji attempted to read her expression, maybe he would be enlightened as far as what the hell was going on. Asami looked of fear, but also anger. Like any human, she had the fear of dying, Kenji understood that. What he didn't understand was why. He hoped for a transformation. He knew these rogues were messing with them. Any moment now, a white cloud of smoke will poof into the air. His friends will still be here.
Instead, the Asami and Miki who transformed into swords....regained their original form. Beside the standoff now stood two Anbu soldiers. Kenji kept swerving his head back and forth. The soldier who was in his hand to Asami who was smiling, about to die. For whatever reason. Hansuke fell to his knees. Miki collapsed under the weight of her body. Lifeless.
Hansuke covered his eyes and screamed as loud as he could. His first kill....was someone he spent childhood with. Gone. By his hand. He wailed. Hoping this would all be a dream. Kenji choked up listening to his friend. What was even happening? Kenji held it back with sheer power and moved to support Asami, lowering her to the ground. The blade protruding from her skin wobbled as she hit the grass, staining it with blood. Kenji thought he was holding it back, but he leaned closer to Asami and said, "Why..a..are...you...two....here? His voice cracked, speaking through the lump in his through and the waterfall trailing down his cheeks.
Asami gurgled and coughed liquid up, trying to answer him. Her eyes seemed serious, like she NEEDED to warn him about something. Kenji whimpered, "I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry." He let it all out and laid his forehead on his friend's shoulder. He held her hand while he sobbed. In the middle of his episode, Asami's other arm began creeping up her side. She used all her energy to point towards the two Anbu, who were patiently watching, like this was how it was supposed to go. They stared her down, but Asami gave them a glare of her own. Kenji didn't notice. She tried one more time to utter a word, but was unsuccessful. Her arm lowered to the ground. Kenji listened as one of the people who stood beside him through hell, took her last breath, and died by his hand.
Kenji entered a state he never felt before. Darkness. He felt he could kill anyone or everyone, and he wouldn't feel a thing. His unconscious push of the more harsh ninja ideals ceased. No longer did the voice in his head tell him not to do something. Kenji welcomed that new feeling. Until he heard movement towards him. He turned his head behind himself, just in time to see Hansuke swipe down on his back. Kenji shrieked and cried out in agony. His friend left a deep wound. The cut ran through his head, stripping the hair off his head and into his right shoulder blade. Kenji nearly fainted from betrayal he felt.

Charging through the Land of Fire at mach speed, Kakashi and Aya led the path.
Kakashi turned backwards. "Sasuke!! Rei!! Hurry up! We don't have much time!"
A red-headed girl with blue eyes retorted back, "Sensei, if you'd wait up, I could actually keep up, you know!"
Beside her was a creepy, emo looking boy who was suprisingly, heaving as loud as Rei.
Aya turned back and smiled at the two kids, but she also had the feeling that something was wrong. Her worry right now trumped any other time in her life.
-----------------
"Hansuke, what are you doing?!?!" Kenji said. He was on the brink of curling into a ball for the rest of his life. Hansuke's answer was nothing but a stone cold stare. The boys shared a moment of silence, the dead bodies of their teammates on full display. Even the Anbu boys flickered off somewhere. Just a moonlight sky, best friends, and a death match.
Hansuke gripped his sword and flickered behind Kenji. As he cut with his sword, a stream of air flew from the blade. He sliced so fast, the air itself was cut. Kenji blocked, but it wasn't easy. Countless strikes clashed back and forth. The grunting and loss of breath echoed throughout the night, aligning with the chirp of crickets. Kenji backed off and clicked his ninja wire. His sword shot from his hand towards Hansuke and erupted with electricity. Kenji flicked his sword like a whip. One final blow came from above. The sword flew towards the middle of Hansuke's head, but the boy dodged with hesitation, like he thought about letting the strike hit.
-----------------
In the dead of night, water puddles clouded the grass. Fire sizzled on the tree limbs. And two boys eyed each other while heaving up and down.
"SAY SOMETHING DAMMIT!!!"
Hansuke said nothing.
"IS THIS JUST A GAME TO YOU? LETS GO BACK TO THE VILLAGE AND GRADUATE...together." Kenji hated this.
Hansuke still....said nothing.
Hansuke threw his sword to the side and stood there. He reached behind his back and unsheathed two small daggers. The silver blades were engraved with detail with matching hilts, flashing a pearly white.
Hansuke muttered, "These were my dad's daggers and he passed them to me. I never showed you these because I was waiting for our graduation from the academy. To show you up, like all those times by that giant tree. But we got put on a different path. Didn't we."
"Yeah. Before you do that, tell me why you're trying to kill me."
"I can't."
".....then I'll beat you and we'll both go home. TOGETHER!"
Hansuke frowned. His reluctance seeped through the cracks of his face, until he reinforced it with the cold face from the beginning.
Kenji didn't even notice. He was so frustrated. He had been asking 'Why' all his life. He wanted to know things. Everything. But when he NEEDED to know, the universe spat in his face.
"I guess it's my turn to show what I had planned for that day in the academy." Kenji stood straight and burrowed into the eyes of Hansuke. His eyes spun like wheels and adopted a red glow. A fully matured sharingan appeared. The cut on Kenji's back and head throbbed. He could feel himself slipping, but he reveled in the comfort of his sharingan. He never got to use his gift as much as he wanted to. A part of him relaxed, since Hansuke finally knew him for who he was.
In Hansuke's mind, the image of his best friend spinning up his sharingan burned into his head. That same image made him cower with fear. He felt a bit of betrayal himself for a second, his friend hiding a secret like that. He shook his head. He had no room to talk.
Each boy took a fighting stance. Hansuke, in his mind, said "I'm sorry Kenji. You can hate me, but please don't hate yourself."
Kenji widened his red pupils and eyed Hansuke carefully.
"Let's do this."
Hansuke nodded.
A real fight, one that will go down in shinobi history, began.
