章 550: Night at Artemis- Part 5

"You are the one who had been corrupting the river," Damien confronted the man who gave him a blank look like he knew nothing. 

"Is that a quick accusation?" the black witch pulled his trigger for the bullet to launch and miss Damien.

"You have been here for only a few months. And those few months a lot of things happened," the magistrates were killed and the river was poisoned in a way where the humans had come under the control of the white witches. To be specific the Artemis, "What about your parents? Don't you care about them?" Damien questioned the black witch.

"I find it hard to care for someone who kicked me out and was the reason I couldn't be there to see my brother's face for one last time," there was a certain hollowness as he spoke those words, "What is family when one cannot uphold until the end, isn't it?"

"You can still mend your ways," Damien moved his head, tilting to his left when the bullet graze next to his cheek.
