章 1: To Live

Its 35 degree Celsius outside, the sun situated at the center of sky, clear sky, dazzling blue, absent from any rain clouds. People continuing their daily life, while all this is happening, at a hospital situated at one of the most famous areas of the city, a young boy with black hair and brown eyes, wearing the blue hospital gown wriggling on the bed as in extreme pain.

"Shit @#&* shit, it pains, its irritating being ill, why me, WHY", cursing out loud the same young boy, this seems to have become his daily routine, whenever no one is present in his room, he cries out load to ease his pain, as he read somewhere that saying what's on your mind gives you relief of both the body and mind.

"Seven my dear are you awake❓", a sweet and gentle voice filled with pure care and affection hears from the young man inside.

"Yes, mother, I indeed am, please come in", says the young man, hiding all the pain he was feeling inside as not to make her mother worry.

A middle aged woman with brown hair, brown eyes and a somewhat chubby built came in, she wore a blue plain top and a blue jeans with some white straps on it and in her hand was a polyethylene bag, written on it was Sam's bakery, beside her a middle aged man holding her hand, with light black eyes and black hair, wearing a multicolored T-shirt and a jeans short, looking like a joker. Both walked inside together and sat on the couch near the bed facing their son.

His mom and dad looking in his eyes hiding the sadness deep inside them, and giving their only child the best smile they can make, just as same, the young boy also seems to hide the pain he is feeling and likewise showing them the best smile he can make.

The middle aged man said, "Son, today is your birthday and brought your favorite cupcakes from Sam's bakery which you used to eat, we did not get the permission to take you out", while he was speaking the middle woman took out the cupcakes from the polyethylene bag which she had in her hands, and passed it to her son.

The son took the cupcakes from her mother's warm and gentle hands, took one bite and said while chewing, "I am 17, according to doctors, I.. I ca... cannot live more t... than 2-3 months, mom and dad, I.. I... I..... I...., UAAAHHHH", he could not bring himself to complete the sentence and started crying, all the pain he withheld, and the suffering he had, he burst out with all the emotions he had, he lost himself and started crying, his mom and dad sat near him and put his weak body and put it on their lap, he was crying, his mom was crying, and even was his father.

Everything was silent, just the sound of crying could be heard. A family of three all were at their wits end and had lost the last string that were holding their emotions. After a minute... 5 minutes.... 30 minutes, everything went silent.

"M... Mo... Mom, Da.. Dad, I have decided that, I want to be remembered by someone, I don't want to Die like this, so I have planned to donate my kidney to the 7 year old girl admitted beside me, I know, one of my kidneys failed and only one remained, bu.. bu.... bu.... but, I would di... di... DIE anyways, so I want to donate my other kidney to her, so that she can live in my stead, I would die bef... before the timings given by the doctor, but its 'worth it'." As the young boy continued he slowly realized what he has to do now, he had the brightest smile when he finished, and after all these sufferings he felt, he became GENUINELY HAPPY.

The mom and dad felt sad and yet happy at the same time, sad as they would lose their son early on, but happy as their son found something to do, the son whom they met every day, and saw that he would try his best to hide the pain he was feeling, but no matter how much he tries they are his parents, they raised his, the couple felt more sad, when they saw that there is not sharing his pain but trying to hide it.

Today, he talked his heart out after a long time, they felt happy for this. But it's better for the parents are sent to hell rather than watching their son die before them, but they cannot do anything about it.

They talked up to the hospital authorities and later on finalizing everything, the young man, felt really happy that he would be able to at least trade his life for someone else, but no matter what, before going to operation theatre when he saw his parents he cried, no matter how much he tried to withhold it, he cried.

'Why I am crying, I am saving someone, but but but.... I LOVE THEM, I TRULY LOVE THEM', thought the young man.

The parents told them "son, this is just the beginning there may be many lives ahead, leave it just you did it now, and always something great will happen, and it will happen, as if you believe in something, it will happen."

Listening to his mom and dad's words he gave them a sweet smile having tears in his eyes, and went to the OT.

But kept thinking of what he's said and believed them.

The Doctor gave him the anesthesia, while he was turning unconscious, the only thing in his mind to live, to live, to live, TO LIVE, TO LIVE..... to liv... to li... li.....
