章 19: Back Home ( Flashback pt 2)
Amari was in the hospital for a few days. Home mom had come to pick her up and take her home.
Keturia told her about Dontae stopping by and that her father wanted to kill him and would've if Philip and Tirique didn't help her keep him at bay.
Amari felt sad and embarrassed. Sad because she didnt expect her relationship with Dontae to turn out like this. All she wanted was love. She wanted to give and receive it. She was torn about how things had ended. She was embarrassed because of her father temper. Who's known to get out of control. That's where she gets her temper from. She was sad and embarrassed that her parents knew that she failed at love. She wanted to hide forever.
On the drive home, Amari looked out of the window. She started to year up at the thought of failing in her relationship. She loved Dontae with all her heart, her soul, her life. She loved him unconditionally. She wondered how can she stop loving someone that she loved for most of her adult life? Her conclusion was that she would love him for a life time. And the three precious gifts that God gave her she will shower them with the love her parents have given her. It didnt matter if their father was in their life or not, she will love them for the both of them. She rubbed her belly and smiled while rmtears rolled down her cheek.
She wiped her eyes and looked at her mom and said " I'll go back to work in three days. I need to recuperate my heart and rest and regain my strength. I'll be back to normal soon mom. Don't worry no more, okay?"
Her mom looked at her and caressed her cheek. Wiping a strangling tear away and smiled. " I know naby. Take your time. You don't have to rush back to work. Stay home for a while." She said as she looked at the road.
" No. I want to go back to work to keep my mind busy so that I won't think about him and what happened. Besides. I'm going to have three mouths to feed soon. I need to save up a lot of money."
" Okay. Just be careful and don't stress yourself out over the little things."
" I won't that's why I have to keep busy."
" Wow, I'm going to be a grandma! You have three babies in you and you dont look like you have one. I wish I had your body when I was pregnant with my babies!" Keturia smiled and hoping in her seat while she drove down the road.
Amari laughed " Well, I hope my body bounces back just as quick as yours did!"
" Oh course it would. You're my child and you have my genes."
Amari smiled and hugged her mom right arm " I love you mommy! You're the best mommy in the world!" She looked up at her mom and grinned.
" I know and I'm going to be one of the best grandmas too!" Keturia smiled with her hands on the steering wheel while rocking from side to side.
" Yep, cause you're oozing with awesome sauce!" The laughed as the car reached their driveway.
Keturia made a right turn into the driveway and pulled the car into the garage.

A few days later Amari was working in the E.R. when a delivery guy came up to her with a bouquet of flowers.
Amari was unmoved by the flattery that Dontae was trying to pull off. She was so annoyed that she told the guys to send the flowers back to the sender.
" Ma'am, we can't do that. Once the flowers have been snipped from the root, they're no good to us. And once we deliver them they become yours. So please sign your name right here please." The delivery guy said getting annoyed himself. This is not the only stop he had.
" I have not accepted them and I wont accept them. Either you send them back to the sender or you through them away. Either way I don't give a care."
" But ma'am, I'm here, the flowers are here and you're here. Just take them so that I can continue with my day." Pissed off that Amari is not cooperating.
" If you keep harassing me inwill sure you and your company. Now, I'm being nice here. Send these b**chest back." Amari's eyes drew cold and her stare was of death.
" Whatever. Bye lady." The delivery guy turned around with the flowers and proceeded to walk out of the E.R. This went on for two weeks.
After sending flowers Dontae started coming to the E.R. for an unknown illness. Amari knew that he was pretending just so that he could talk to her, but she wasn't ready to see him yet alone talk to him.
She felt that if she sat down and had a conversation with him he would talk about getting back together and how sorry he was.
She knew that she would be weak and accept him back. She wanted him to know her worth. So whenever he came in she would ask another doctor to take her place.
She loved Dontae with her whole being and she would never stop loving him, but she wanted to be alone to get over him and he was making it hard for her.
She had to think of a way to make him stop and move on with his life.
