"Oh-Oh," said Pangu, with a laugh. It pleased me to see him joking again.
"Okay now let's be serious," I said.
"I don't know what do you mean by 'serious' but you seem to need help."
"Yeah, I do. The natural laws here are in chaos, and I am supposed to find a way to absorb the energy."
"This won't be easy. How much time do you have?"
"Approximately two days. Why, do you have a plan?"
"I do."
"How much time does it take?"
"Well, each person's talent is different from the other. In other words, it depends on you. If you are talented enough, then one day would suffice. But if you are not, then five days at the least."
"Damn it."
"Yep, you have the right to curse."
I took a deep breath then said, "Tell me everything you know."
"As you wish, senior." He started telling me how the technique works. As he was talking, my mind was working fast on understanding his words. Although it wasn't easy to understand, it wasn't too hard either. Perhaps my talent is medium.
A day passed, and Pangu finished explaining the technique. With my eyes still closed, and with utmost concentration, I began the technique.
Was it easy? Of course it wasn't. Is there even something called easy in this world? But if we didn't strive hard to achieve our purpose, how then are we supposed to gain anything?
Okay. Now enough philosophy talk and let's get back to that damned technique. An hour has already passed and I had no progress at all.
Let me tell you how this thing works. I, the Lord of Water, Wind, and Ice, am connected to the laws mentioned just now. In fact, every cultivator is. I have to search for that connection and follow it, till I find the law that I study and grasp it.
However, Pangu told me that this link exists in where the person's heart lies. Like you, naturally, I thought it was love. But of course it wasn't.
See, it wasn't the actual heart that he was talking about; it was the Dao Heart, something that was completely new to me too. A Dao heart is something that holds a special meaning for the person, in other words, it can be anything. Every person had a Dao heart, even you mortals!
This Dao heart can be destroyed, but this destruction will destroy the person's life and cripple it, and he/she would no longer be sane.
What is my Dao heart? I myself don't know the answer. I am still searching. After another 5 hours of constant searching, and under the blabbering of Pangu, I finally found my Dao heart.
You will forgive me if I won't tell you, because I prefer not to mention what it is now. Perhaps another time in the future.
Still, that was half the job. There was plenty to do. The link exists in the depth of the Dao heart, which is even hard to do than searching for the actual Dao heart. This is because the person has to go deep in his self and then, that link would be revealed.
I started searching, and by searching I mean recalling each and every single moment of my entire life; from the moment of my birth, till this very moment.
My life flashed in front of my eyes as I concentrated on every decision that I have made.
The Dao heart naturally has a core inside of it, either good or evil. That is how the world has bad people in it, their cores would be evil. Most people has a good core, but as for me, you'd be shocked....
It wasn't an evil core, nor was it a good one. It was blank. Completely and utterly blank. When I asked Pangu about it, he said that this phenomenon is rarely seen in the world. It means that my path is unknown, or that I mean in between of evil and good. I may not be evil, but I am not good either.
There in the core, three streams of light were glowing brightly. One was white, the second blue, and the third one was sometimes white, and sometimes blue. They are wind, water, and ice respectively.
However, a very very very faint red glow was besides the ice stream. I didn't realize what was it then, only to find about it later.
Since I found the link, I started absorbing the natural energy until Fárbuati turned to me nd said coolly, "The two day period has ended. It is time to fight."
