章 10: My dear wife
Earlier, a bit far from the battlefield. Rae Gu stopped on her tracks and looked back towards the direction of where she came from.
She had a mixed feelings wether to go back or to continue escaping.
Debating to herself, before she finally decided to go back.
Considering that Huang Ryu was alone, she thought that he would have a hard time dealing with those assassins all by himself.
Perhaps, by lending him a hand would increased their chances of winning.
Rae Gu sighed heavily and convicted to herself that she was no cowardice.
Though Rae Gu was a doctor, but she was still a soldier at heart and was groom to have a persistent and unyielding character.
Even how her own uncle had brought her up since childhood, Rae Gu was force to learned different kinds of martial arts, and this pounded an ideal on her mind not to turn her tail from a fight.
But thinking about Huang Ryu, she would scorned at the thought of that grinning face and wanted to smack him and put black eye on that face, [That shameless pervert really would grab all his opportunities to take liberty on me. Hmp!]
Consequently, Rae Gu's mind flashed an image of him kissing her on her forehead. It made her blushed and produced a tingling sensation on her chest.
Without realizing to herself that there was already a seed of love planted on her heart and it won't take a long time for her own feelings to bloom.
At that moment, as if in trance, Rae Gu patted her cheeks to woke herself up from daydreaming and thought more about the pressing matters on her hands.
Rae Gu took a deep breath to firm her decision and made her first step towards the battlefield.
Thus, the current situation happened...

On the battlefield were Huang Ryu was already having a hard time standing on his own, still stood like a rod in front of the enemies, without even flinching from the pain of his wounds.
His wounds was now oozing with blood non-stop. Better yet, his unbending dignity and courage gave him the strength on not to give in to his weakness.
For he still had the responsibility to looked pafter the whole Empire of the Beast as the Dragon Emperor, and also looked for the woman whom he promise to find after this ordeal.
Huang Ryu summoned up his last ounce of elemental force, but stopped and winced with the overbearing pain he felt throughout his body which put him in a difficult situation.
He gritted his teeth to endure it as this will be the final moment which will determined his life and death.
Trying to summoned up his elemental force again, he closed his eyes to concentrate and held himself from the pain.
But before he could gather his elemental force a slender hand reached out to cover his shoulder wound with a torn fabric from her own sleeve.
Huang Ryu was startled and opened his eyes. He was about to strike the person whom without warning approached him, but his attacked stop midair when his eyesight fell on that strikingly beautiful face of Rae Gu.
"You... Why did you come back?" Huang Ryu stared at her dumbfounded. He had given her the chance to escape from here, but she chose to come back.
[Is it because she's worried about me?] Huang Ryu was elated and at the same time uncertain if he was just thinking too much out of this situation.
While ago, Huang Ryu felt Rae Gu's familiar presence coming closer to him, yet he just dismissed it as his own imagination, after all he was currently thinking about her.
However, Huang Ryu never would have thought that what he had felt earlier was in fact a reality, and that bare arm and little hand that was pressing against his wound was not a dream but in fact an existent.
"I can't just leave a comrade behind, alright? I can also fight you know." Rae Gu looked towards his eyes and smiled before redirecting her attention towards his bloody wound.
His wound has a hole in it and was gruesome to looked at,"Do you have a medicine? We need to stopped the bleeding first."
Huang Ryu looked at her with amused expression on his face. He slanted his brow and asked her. "You're not disgusted by the wound and blood?"
"No, why would I?" Rae Gu shook her head, she used to see more of those ghastly gun wounds when working in a military hospital, so this kind of wound was not the worst kind that she had seen so far.
Rae Gu looked towards the enemies from her position to observed their movement. [Holy cow! How am I supposed to fight those magic balls and ice that they are firing at us?]
She gasped and her mouth was left wide-opened after witnessing those fireballs, ice spikes, and even the ground and vines are attacking them. She now regretted coming back to help.
Rae Gu's mind was smothered by those attacks. She only knows how to fight with martial arts and gun, but she's no magician as to counter those attacks. [Why in the world did i bring myself back here?]
Sighing , Rae Gu saw that their attacks was block by some kind of barrier,so she could only smile wryly and looked towards the man on her side.
She was thinking that maybe after doing some first aid on Huang Ryu, would increase their chances of escaping. So, Rae Gu turned and diverted her attention on his wounds.
"Let me borrow your sword." After Rae Gu took the sword from his hand, she then used it to cut his sleeve and now exposing the wound.
She then pressed the torn fabric that she had cut earlier on his wound to put a pressure on it to minimized the blood flow.
"Hold it," After, she also torn his other sleeve and used it to bandage the wound.
Huang Ryu stared at her being occupied on tending his wound. His lips curved up and a smile formed on his face.
Later on, Rae Gu had finished bandaging the wound and tied up a ribbon knot.
When Huang Ryu vision land on that ribbon knot, his complexion turned darked. [Why did it have to be a ribbon?]
If not for being grateful, he would surely strangled Rae Gu to death.
"Done." Rae Gu smiled and satisfiedly looking at her masterpiece.
Huang Ryu gloomy aura dispersed after seeing her smile. He could only sighed even after he was played by her.
Staring at her smiling lips, he impulsively grabbed the back of her head and leaned to plant a kiss on her lips, while his other hand slithered around Rae Gu's waist and pulled her closer into his embraced.
Rae Gu was stunned after being kissed by him out of the blue. She was frozen on his embraced as her heart pounded non-stop and even got butterflies in her stomach.
Slowly loosening up his gripped off her waist, Huang Ryu also released her lips when he felt that Rae Gu was so stiffed, and was afraid that she might even forgot how to breath because of the shocked.
After being released, Rae Gu stayed rooted on her spot, until she heard someone giggled and whispered to her ears, "Since you have come back, don't ever think of running away from me again, my dear wife."
"Ahem!" Rae Gu pretended not hear what Huang Ryu had said and turned her face on the other side. As she was afraid that he would see her current expression.
Not knowing why, but Rae Gu did not loathed his advances instead it made her heart fluttered.
But before she could analyzed her feelings further, she heard a splattering sound on her side and looked towards the source of it.
Huang Ryu puked blood after the wind barrier he put up earlier was broken by their enemies.
"You.." Rae Gu saw a blood trickled on side of his lips.
"I'm fine, don't worry my wife." He grimaced in pain and held his chest but still gave her a reassuring smile.
The leader of the assasins scoffed at them. "Tsk! Don't worry we will surely send you both to hell at the same time. Continue you lovey-dovey moment in there. Attack!"
All the assassins scattered and attacked them.
Huang Ryu pulled Rae Gu and hide her on his back while he summoned up another shield to protect them from those barrage of attacks from the enemies.
This time, the shield immediately broke, for the reason that Huang Ryu got weaker every time he summoned his elemental force and even force himself to swallow back the blood that was struggling to get out from his mouth.
Huang Ryu tear his eyes from the enemy and looked towards Rae Gu from the corner of his eyes."Do you really know how to fight? Can you summoned up your elemental force?"
Rae Gu looked at him and smiled ironically, "What is elemental force? Is that what those firey ball thingy that they are firing at us?"
When Huang Ryu saw that "I have no idea how" expression plastered on her face. A vein on his temple almost pop out. So much for knowing how to fight, she didn't even know what an elemental force was.
Though Huang Ryu felt happy that she returned for him, but now they are both in this delimma, how will he be able to protect her? He was even having a hard time protecting himself.
"Watch out!" Huang Ryu jump out between her and the fireball, he deflected some of the enemies attack, but a fireball was able to passed through his shield and went for Rae Gu.
The fireball was block by his sword and Huang Ryu countered to kill the attacker.
He was able to protect her and at the same time decreased the number of their enemies. But in this instance, that attack from him was the last bit of his elemental force and Huang Ryu collapsed on the ground unconscious given that his body was totally drained and exhausted.
"Huang Ryu!" Rae Gu tried to catch him, but he was too heavy, so instead she was pulled by his weight on the ground.
Rae Gu who was sitting on the ground beside the lying Huang Ryu, panic and patted his cheeks to wake him up.
Tears rolled down from her eyes. She doesn't know why but her tear glands acted on its own.
