章 9: Blood Feud
Inside the Dark Forest, a furious gale rushed to a certain area and formed a circle. It served as a barrier that prevented anyone from passing through.
After Rae Gu ran earlier, Huang Ryu controlled the wind to surround the enemies on all sides including himself, so he could hold them off and let Rae Gu escape.
One of the men tried to go out, but when he touched the wind barrier, it attacked him and sliced every part of his body. He staggered backwards and dropped on the ground with only a breath left on his body. He was full of cuts and were bleeding furiously, his blood spread to his tattered clothes and into the ground.
With no hope of going out, the remaining nine black-clothed men drew their weapons and prepare to fight.
Seeing the weapons, Huang Ryu's eyes turned cold and his pupils constrict with savagery. His breathing become heavy and the aura around him intensified. He really wanted to tear them apart limb by limb.
This humans were really despicable, for the sake of gaining power, they never hesitate to sacrifice the lives of a beasts. Beasts had feelings too.
They also felt the pain of losing their love ones like humans do. But humans treated them lower than those farm animals and use them to satiate their own greed.
In this Hidden Continent, beasts are gifted by nature. They had a beast core which allow them to control the different elements of nature and the element they could manipulate will depend on their family's bloodline.
Each one of them have different elemental affinities, so when a beast was born, they were either take after their father or mother's elemental affinity, whichever was stronger.
Beasts also has stronger vitality and lives longer than humans. So, humans envied the beast and their gift.
So, Humans decided to do an experiment and tried to explore the secrets on beast body. Until, they discovered that using the beast core as an ingredient to forging weapons, could make the weapon itself amassed an elemental force the same as the core they use.
Humans can wield the weapon and use the elemental force as their own. But, even if they can manipulate the force like how the beasts do, humans vitality are weaker than the beast, so their vitality was quickly overdrawn, even though they could restore their vitality with a rest, they were still not satisfied with the result.
So humans continued to dig deeper,and tried to find out if they could use the core to make an elixir, thinking that maybe they could also have the same vitality as a beasts.
With their continuous researched, humans found out that the blood of a noble beast could be use to make an elixir. They also conclude that the purer the blood of a beast use, the more potent the elixir would be.
But humans can only consumed the elixir little by little for their body to adapt, or else their body would explode. The elixir could increase their vitality and their capacity to wield the weapon will also be longer.
After having discovered these methods to strengthen their race, Humans become greedy and continuously hunted the beast for power. These were the reasons why humans and beast had a never ending blood feud.

Fifty years ago,
When a Dragon Emperor falls in love with a human princess and has chosen her to be his Drayeen, this put a temporary stopped on their feuds.
Until Human Kingdom has changed their ruler twenty-five years ago. The reign of that Human Emperor was chaotic, and he himself has a thirst for wealth and power. That Human Emperor was very greedy and created a mercenary union solely for hunting beasts.
For three years, humans hunted the beast non-stop. They went on a killing spree and slaughter their way in to the deeper area of the Beast kingdom.
Many beast died and the mournful cries could be heard all throughout the Beast Kingdoms, because of this, the Four Beasts Kingdom together with their suIpreme ruler, the Dragon Emperor, retaliated and killed many humans, and that ignited the all out war twenty-two years ago.
Both sides receive heavy casualties, many of the beast with a noble bloodline died and even the royalties of the beast took a great blow. The same with the humans, many of their slayers died and so as their current Emperor. So, humans change their ruler.
The Human Emperor this time were kind and righteous. He disbanded the mercenary union and decided to have a truce with the beasts. He also agreed for a peace treaty and set a rule that forbid humans from hunting and killing a beast. But even with this rule,some greedy humans were still secretly hunting and killing a beast.

Back in the Dark Forest.
With the wind barrier surrounded them, the enemies also formed a circle around Huang Ryu. They could only choose to kill the caster, so the wind barrier would deactivate.
Anyway, from the start their target was this man and not the woman. So, they won't mind if that woman can escape.
The leader of the black cloth men summoned three fireballs to commence their first attacked on Huang Ryu.
When Huang Ryu uses the wind shield to stop the fireball, he could tell by the strength of the fireball that they are an A ranking slayer and using an A class weapons. He knows that with his condition, Huang Ryu will have a hard time dealing with them. [I need to finished this soon.]
Huang Ryu drew his sword and a swirling wind surrounded the sword. He sneered and looked at them with bloodthirsty eyes. "Come at me! Make my day."
When the enemies saw the sword, they all gasped and their leader looked at the sword with greed. The sword was one of the six legendary weapons, the Wind Cutter. It is said that the First Dragon Emperor himself forged the six legendary weapons to fight against their enemies thousands of years ago, but who the enemies were, no one knows in their current generation.
The enemy's leader fixated his eyes on the sword and wanted to get it for his own. "All of you attacked him."
Two of the men, summoned the wood element and shouted together, "Restrained", They attacked from both of his sides to restrained Huang Ryu, but it was cut by him. Another three men attacked Huang Ryu on his back. "Ice spike!" Several sharp pointed ice were shoot on his back, and at the same time he was attacked from the ground by the other two enemies, "Ground explosion!, earth spikes come out from the ground one after the other. and the rest attack him on top of his head with fire, "Fireball!"
Huang Ryu kept on dodging left and right from the earth spike and the ice spike, and at the same time he was busy cutting the wood to avoid being restrained. He also cast a wind shield on top of his head to stop the fireball.
They repeated the attacked several times, and Huang Ryu was able to dodged and block their attacked.
But the leader could see that Huang Ryu was panting, his sweat trickled non-stop from his forehead, and face paled. "Go all out."
Huang Ryu couldn't find a chance to counter. [Not good. I'm at my limit.]
If only Huang Ryu wasn't injured, he could easily deal with them using the Wind Cutter.
The enemies attack him simultaneously and he wasn't able to dodged all of it and was hit on his shoulder.
Huang Ryu hissed from the pain. The ice spike burrowed a hole on his shoulder, and the blood dripped from his wound. [is this the end?]
He was to weak to summoned more elemental force, His mouth curve with melancholy, when suddenly a woman's silly expression appeared on his mind.
He giggled after remembering Rae Gu. [Right! I still need to get more information from you. I can't die yet or else the hope for the beasts survival will also die with me.]
"Attacked." The leader commanded his subordinates to attack him together on all sides again, after seeing him weak and wounded.
Thinking that Rae Gu must have ran far now. Huang Ryu deactivate the wind barrier around, so he could minimize his use in elemental force. He then summoned another wind shield to protect himself.
The enemy relentlessly attacked him from all sides, until they were able break the wind shield.
Huang Ryu coughed up blood after the shield was broken, due to his excessive use of elemental force, his body was still too weak now, and can't handle the pressure from using more of his elemental force, if he summoned a force again, he might become crippled. But what other choice does he have. Only by summoning an elemental force could let him fight to survive.
Huang Ryu took a deep breath and try summoning a force again, but he felt severe pain coursing thoughout his viens. He even had a hard time standing..
He gritted his teeth to endure it, when suddenly a hand reached out to his body from the side and help him support his body.
He turned his head and saw the smiling face of Rae Gu. "I can't really abandon a comrade during a fight,you know."
