The workers from the home furnishing centre arrived around nine in the morning the next day. They came to deliver the furniture and decorative items that Ren had purchased yesterday. Hibiki and some of the bodyguards also helped them.
"Master, do you still insist on decorating your house alone?" Hibiki questioned Ren for the sixth time since the first box arrived.
"Yes. You guys can leave." Ren opened a sealed box with a cutter without looking back at his subordinate.
"But, these are too many. It's inconvenience to leave them with just you and the madam." Hibiki protested.
"Hibiki is right." Couldn't watch the poor man any longer, Tsubaki stepped in their conversation. "You couldn't possibly do it alone. And I can't help you with the heavy works efficiently. Let them help. You could still make the decision on the design by yourself, they won't meddle with it."
Madam! Thank you for saying so! Hibiki's eyes lit up.
"Go changed your clothes." As his wife had spoken, he shouldn't continue being stubborn.
"Yes, sir!"
Hibiki and the four bodyguards quickly left and returned with casual clothes on their figures. Tsubaki giggled seeing the eagerness in their eyes. Leaving Ren to give them instructions, she opened a box and took out the items. Ren saw it and gestured for his subordinates to wait for a while before he walked to his kneeling wife on the floor.
"You, my dear, please just watch us." Ren gripped her shoulders and led her to a chair near the wall.
"Eh? Why?" Tsubaki was baffled.
"We have enough manpower here and I don't want you to be injured, in case something happens. So, sit here."
"But, I want to help. I could handle the smaller items," Tsubaki protested.
Ren leaned in and whispered next to her ear with a low, seductive voice. "Stay still or I will kiss you in front of them."
Tsubaki blushed instantly.
Hibiki and the bodyguards awkwardly looked at everywhere but the husband and wife. They couldn't hear what their master had whispered to his wife but judging on her red face, it was something that they shouldn't know.
Boss, don't torture our singles' soul, can't you?
So, Tsubaki could only watch from the sidelines as the six fit men began their work. With their assistance, the progress was much faster than what they had expected. They started with sticking the white wallpapers with faint flowery illustrations on the walls before arranging the furniture.
Black and white theme were properly conveyed through their choice of furniture and decorations. But Tsubaki had picked several items in pastel colours to lighten up the mood. She even chose plastic flowers in yellow, pink, red and purple colours in white pots.
"Come and take a break first." Tsubaki called from the kitchen as noon hit.
"No, Madam. We shouldn't..."
"Come." Ren cut Hibiki off, gesturing them to follow him to the dining table.
In the end, the five men shared a table with their Big Boss.
"It's not much as I did it in a hurry but eat up." Tsubaki poured them fresh orange juice in each glass before handing them to each of the man.
"This is more than enough, Madam." Hibiki politely took a bite of the Napolitan pasta and exclaimed in delight. "Madam, this is so good! You're a really good cook."
The four bodyguards nodded in agreement. They didn't like to talk much but they were clearly enjoying the meal that their madam had personally cooked. As bodyguards of Fuse Family, they were served with delicious and high quality meal three times a day but this pasta could beat what the chefs usually prepared for them.
"I used udon noodles instead of spaghetti, I'm glad you like it." Tsubaki smiled. She took a seat next to Ren who had started his meal.
"Anything my wife cooks is tasty," Ren said with a poker face while eating his lunch.
Hibiki and the bodyguards. "....."
By three o'clock, all the major works had been completed. All that was left was some minor rearrangements. Tsubaki and Ren sent them off the door with thanks. Ren had permitted them to take the rest of the day off.
"You should give bonus for them. "Tsubaki inspected the living room before turned around and looked at her husband with a smile. "They worked hard."
"Okay." Ren fished out his phone and dialed Matsuzaki's number. "Give Hibiki and the four bodyguards who worked with him today a month's bonus for the next paycheck. Tell the finance department immediately."
Tsubaki stared at him, disbelief laid on her face. Rich people sure had their own ways of spending money.
"Give them to me." Ren wanted to take over the vacuum in Tsubaki's hands but she quickly dodged him.
"Go and take a nap. You've worked hard since this morning. I just need to vacuum and mop the floor. It's nothing major."
"But..."
"All the trash has been taken care of, right? Go to sleep. We still need to go and see Grandmother for dinner." Tsubaki gently coaxing her husband. Once he agreed, she patted his cheek with a smile before continuing her work.
Ren threw himself on the bed once he walked inside his room. He was indeed exhausted. It had been a while since the last time he did heavy labour work. Smiling at the memory, he drifted off to sleep.
By seven, they arrived at the old house. Tsubaki looked nervously to Ren, who looked dashing in his custom made black suit. Ren, who had freshened up after a nap smiled reassuringly to her.
"Come. I'm with you."
Tsubaki nodded. She let her husband held her hand as they exited the car.
