章 17: Tears

Li Jun didn't know what was wrong. He had thought that Yu Yan was already asleep. Apparently ,she was not. Her loud sobs tore at his heart. He had done wrong , he knew that. But what had he done wrong? Why was she the sad one? Wasn't she supposed to apologize and beg him to let her work or atleast do something along that lines?. Why was she crying so sadly instead ,as if he had bullied her badly. He was confused but his body's reflex continued to hug and pat her back soothingly, speaking sweet nothings.

Finally, she calmed down.

" Now ,tell me what's wrong?" Li Jun asked her calmly.

" Nothing" She answered.

Obviously Li Jun didn't buy that nonsense.

" Just tell me... Ok sweetie?" Li Jun coaxed her.

Yu Yan thought for awhile and decided that she could not hide away stubbornly like she used to.She had to take the risk and be truthful rather than save her pride. They were married now. He was her family.

" You were angry with me and I didn't know why..... And I thought you didn't want me anymore because I had done something inappropriate during dinner...or maybe..." She started sobbing softly again unable to continue.

By this point , Ji Jun wanted to kick himself in the butt and so much more. How could he forget how sensitive Yu Yan was. She was so insecure about her past and herself that she was scared to even make friends or even trust a dog. He really wanted to slap himself. After all his hard work to get her to love him,he nearly went back to square one.

He hugged her and spoke softly like with a child.

" It is my fault. I was mad that you didn't tell me about your decision to start working again and I took it out the wrong way. You didn't do anything wrong..." He really wanted to cry ..... He had already lost the battle before it even began. Now he had to let her work again.

Yu Yan looked up at him confused.

" But I did tell you"

"When?" Li Jun was highly doubtful . He had really high IQ with perfect memory.Surely she was the one mistaken.

" On the fourth day of our honeymoon..." She replied blushing and averting her eyes away from his.

" Oh..." Was all he could say to that. He did remember her saying lots of things to him while they were getting hot and heavy and she did say something about a job..... he had replied everything with a yes.

He really wanted to hi five his own face right that moment.
