When Misaki woke up, she was in a good mood. She was feeling happy and free because she had spoken with her uncle about her mother. Even though the information was not positive, she felt it was better than not knowing. 

Moreover, it was like the barrier between her and her uncle was even lower. 

When she saw the Sunday breakfast was ready, she skipped around the house looking for her uncle. But her uncle was nowhere to be found.

Her face collapsed in disappointment as she stood in front of his home office. 

In the past, she would not be shocked or even hurt when her uncle failed to show up for meals. But for over a week, he was always there waiting for her to have breakfast without fail. He would smile kindly at her, and she would feel like she had a father. 

His sudden absence made her feel like her world was collapsing. It was harder to deal with his absence now that she knew the joy other children felt.
