"Push a little hard Lily! He's almost here!" Syra was so happy to help Lily deliver her baby that she was more than willing to be the person to guild her through it. The nearby village of magic wielders didn't know about Lily coming into town a month ago and her and Kai decided to keep it that way.
"Take a deep breath." Syra followed along he own words to help Lily feel more comfortable, it was working until the overbearing amount of pain came where she could feel the baby's head popping out. So much pain and all Lily wanted to do was scream, Syra was a healer but she promised Lily that she wouldn't affect her in any way.
Lily wanted a natural birth but in the moment she was crying for Syra to help her ease the pain. She caved in and immediately took a hold of her legs, letting her magic run through her friends body. In an instant Lily's body completely relaxed, she was able to push with ease and a beautiful healthy boy came out with a strong cry.
"Here you go." Syra bathed and washed the boy, wrapped him in a blanket before handing him over to Lily. "Have you decided on a name?"
"Clain, like my father." Lily looked down to her baby boy who was now sleeping soundly in her arms. "I wanted to name him after his father but he would be in danger if I do that. It is best to keep him safe for as long as I can."
The two woman sat in silence admiring the child's strong body and adorable face. "Do you two plan on having any children?"
The question caught Syra off guard. Her and Kai were still very young but she didn't deny that watching over Lily these past couple of days has had her feeling a bit empty. "We have never really discussed it. We have only been married a year and are still young." Syra rose from the seat she was in and walked over to the bedroom window that was open with a fresh spring breeze in this forsaken land.
"I may be an important person to have alive but many magic wielders in the village don't believe so. They view me as a threat and would probably kill me if they had the chance." The atmosphere in the room became cold, Syra kept looking out but Lily knew that she wasn't just speaking nonsense.
This woman appears strong but you can see that she was born with a very strong burden. Kai's family are the protectors of the Fiena lineage. They were a special race, not magical and not human but a spirit capable of obtaining human form. They are known as the Quitare, warriors that go beyond the abilities of a true warrior.
"I know that Kai would rather protect me than to have us bear children just to bring them into this cruel world." Lily heard what Syra was saying but she wasn't sure that it was what she really wanted in her heart.
"I think that it would be best for you to do what is best for you. Nothing more. If you want children then have them.. everything else can sort itself out. I know you can do it, look at me. No powers, no money and I still managed to make a great adventure meeting some amazing people like you and Kai." Syra was glad, she turned around to face her friend and smiled. She had been lonely for so long only having Kai, but having Lily here made her appreciate her own husband.
"I will be leaving soon. Clain and I need to go back to the inner rim to inform ourselves of the situation."
"You can't. It's too dangerous. Plus, you have a newborn in your arms. I will go in your steady. I'm really good at following a map." Syra insisted on Lily staying with Clain in her home until she could gather some information from Worstal City.
"Be careful, I'm sure that soldiers will be tracking everyone that goes in and out. Say that you're from a town in the south east region. Nobody really lives there so you won't get many questions." Kai didn't complain, no one can harm Syra if she was to leave this place so she gathered her things and made her way into the inner rim.
It hurt his heart to watch his wife go but he knew that she was always meant for more things than to live in such a shabby town with people who either hated her or loved her.
I'm actually really excited about this.. tomorrow I should have this finished up.
Thanks everyone for reading!
