章 45: King Adonis

"It'll be another half hour before we've reached Keero. Dalton and I should get off here and walk the rest of the way." Hip felt Clain's command and swiftly set down. Dalton wasn't all too happy to walk but it was something he had grown accustomed to throughout the years. He, like many hunters, were never chosen by riding companions so they relied on wooden caravans that were pulled by horses to travel from place to place.

Kavira dropped down with the two and watched as Clain fixed his bags into place around his body. "Please be safe. I'll contact you as soon as I get to their front gates." Kavira wanted to hug Clain but she knew that it wasn't the right time. Instead she looked into his honey colored eyes for a second too long, taking her leave only after Dalton interrupted saying he was hungry.

Kavira could see the gates to Keero, the sun was past it's peak but still very much high in the sky. She was ready to land when she spotted a twinkling light appearing from behind a tree. At first she didn't think anything of it but after she took a closer look she saw the body of a man in the woods west of the city. "Hip, let's land over there and see if the man needs help."

Hip wasn't all too happy. Clain gave his specific orders to listen to anything Kavira said but dropping down to help people wasn't his usual play. Nonetheless, he listened to her and landed close to the tree where the man lay.

Kavira slid down Hip's side and saw the unconscious man laying sideways. He wasn't a normal being or creature she had ever heard of before. His legs were like those of a fly and on his back there was a tail, thick and yellow but it was connected to his stomach. His body was twitching and the yellow tail lit up every time he twitched. "Hello? Do you need any help?"

Kavira tried to approach the man who continuously moaned in pain. She reached into her sack and pulled out a medical kit that Cindy had prepared for each of them. She moved as quickly as she could to tend the wounds of this man, after she was done the man was no longer crying in pain and his eyes opened.

"Who are you?" He asked looking drowsily at Kavira and slowly closed his eyes falling into a deep sleep.

Nyla and Linx were just about to leave when Brenda had appeared right behind them. "Why did you do that back there?"

Nyla and Linx were so startled that Nyla held onto her heart thinking it was going to pop right out. "What the hell!!"

Brenda covered her mouth giggling. "Aren't you supposed to be a true warrior? How could you not sense me?" Brenda hadn't met many true warrior's but from what she had heard is that they are very alert and aware to the creatures lurking around their area.

"You're a pixie, we don't know your kind well enough to detect your movements." Nyla was still holding her heavy beating heart so Linx replied instead. "How did you follow us here?"

"Easy. After I took this girl out of the tavern I could feel she wasn't drunk so I looked out the window and all I saw was a puddle of water that began to travel to this area." Brenda said the words so casually as though it were a common thing to see. "The time I spent in the Fairy Domain I was fascinated by magical beings, so I was extremely happy to follow you."

"Great. Well you see me and we don't need you." Nyla wasn't trying to be nice, reaching Keero was a priority and right now this pixie was in the way of that. "Now can you please leave." Nyla quickly climbed on top of Jacko followed by Linx who sat in the front.

"Wait! I can help you!" Brenda had finally met someone which powers and she didn't want them to leave so she made a statement without thinking hoping that they wouldn't leave her behind. "I can make sure that Lord Yoru comes looking for you over here. That's what you want isn't it? Just please, take me with you."

Linx wasn't at all convinced that bringing a pixie along was a good idea, there must be a reason why she was banned from the Fairy Domain but she looked determined. "I'll just go do something to assure the Lord comes and grab my shells that I've saved up over the years."

Nyla watched as the lavender pixie ran back to the tavern. "Are you really going to wait for the pixie to come back? What if she's just trying to trick us?"

"She was way too happy to see your powers to do anything to harm you. We'll see. Doesn't hurt to have another body." Linx pulled his messaging flower from his pouch trying to reach Kavira.
