章 43: On the Road Again (2)
"Well, that was the first option. The second option is that you both, Clain and Linx, become castle guards. The third option is for the girls to become workers in the castle." Cindy finished reading there options out loud and looked at the four to see their response.
"I think that the best chance we have is to give ourselves the most opportunities." Kavira was an extremely logical person, she can only remember the eight months since she's been awake from her deep sleep so her adaption with emotions sometimes failed. However, she wasn't going to ignore Clain and Linx's behavior towards the first option. "The men will pose as castle guards and Nyla and I will become castle workers. We'll have more people on hand to do the work of finding the compass, I'm pretty sure he won't have it lying around, making it easy for us to find it."
Kavira presented a good point, but everything they've just planned to do is dangerous. If they were to get caught, getting out of this situation would be more than difficult. "There's also the complication with Dalton and the hunters. If we bring him along then Lord Yoru won't rest but if he goes back and tells him about us, we won't know what will happen next." Clain was sure that releasing Dalton was the best option for now but having him close to keep on eyes on him also benefited them.
"He'll write a letter, saying that he is still searching for Nyla and will bring her to him as soon as he is able to. It'll give us time to leave this place and not have Lord Yoru try to harm the fairies." Kavira was a straight shooter. Yes, keeping Dalton was dangerous. Yes, he might escape but she knew that he was a card that would be better used in the future.
After the roles were discussed and agreed to, Cindy brought out a map to present the best and fastest ways of reaching Keero. Flying companions cannot be flown in the city just like Dark City but either way they can't be seen together so at some point before they reach the city they have to split up and someone has to take Dalton.
"He'll stay with me." Clain volunteered, they were about the same level in combat so he would be the only one able to hold him back if he tries to make a move.
"The other two, take these." Cindy placed two messaging flowers on the table, one for Linx and another for Nyla. "Kavira and Clain already have theirs so whenever you all need to communicate, you can." The brother and sister gladly accepted the flowers and put them in their personal pouches.
"There's one last thing, if and when we need to communicate with each other make sure you are in the clear. The flower will turn purple when someone is trying to reach you." Kavira ended the strategy with that statement. Everyone concurred and left the dinning room.
Upstairs Kavira asked Clain and Linx to let her into their room for a moment, she needed to speak with Dalton. They allowed her entry, she walked past the door frame and closed the door behind her. She could see Dalton's sleeping body tied up to a chair on the far right corner, he hadn't woken up to her noises so she released his hands from the vines and gently pushed him with a gust of wind.
He immediately opened his eyes, his hands were free but his legs were not. "What do you plan to do with me?" He had right to be suspicious but looking at the girl he felt much safer than looking at Lord Yoru.
"If you were to communicate with Lord Yoru and tell him that you were still chasing Nyla, how would you tell him?" Kavira had initially wanted to send a letter but she wasn't sure if a simple letter would tip Lord Yoru off even more.
"Why? What are you playing at?" Dalton had spent three days tied to this chair as a prisoner, but these people still fed him good food and allowed him to bathe.
"I need you to send a message to Lord Yoru, tell him that you're still following Nyla and that you will bring her to him as soon as you can." Kavira held a serious expression but Dalton produced a hysterical laugh.
"You must not know anything about my Lord if you think he would ever believe something like that. You see, I have never failed him. The only reason why I haven't escaped is because I don't know much about you but if I send him a message like that then he will know I am lying." Dalton knew that he was marked for death. He failed for the first time, Lord Yoru doesn't take lightly to failure. He either died here or he died there, it was his choice to not show his face to his Lord for he carried nothing but misery.
"Very well then. I should send him a note myself, I would gladly send your hooves with it but from what you're telling me he must not care for his men." Kavira reached for the handle on the door ready to open it when Dalton spoke up.
"The best you can do is hope he doesn't find a way into the Fairy Domain, leading him away with factual rumors is best. Have some people see Nyla and speak about her, make a scene or something. That would be the best you can do."
"Thank you." Kavira opened the door and walked out, leaving his hands untied was her gift to him.

YoliC Hmmm.. I don't know if I trust Dalton.
Just wanted to let you all know that I will not be posting Thursday since it is Thanksgiving and I will be busy but I am all set to mass publish ten chapters on Friday, Nov. 23, 2018!
