Akantha wakes up from her sleep and peeks beside her. The man that slept with her for the past two days is already missing.
She sits down and ponders for a moment. Until she heard something knock on the window.
Akantha immediately stands up and sees a pigeon knocking on the window. She immediately walks towards the window, takes the pigeon to enter the room, and sees it bring a message.
She takes out a piece of paper and sits down at one of the chairs. She then writes the latest incident from Volya's group.
That night Volya, Helena, Romain, Aliz, and herself saw Gracia's lifeless body in the alleyway. And at the same time, the Knight tried to bring Gracia's body for autopsy.
Helena then tried to stop them and started to argue. Until one of the knights whispers at the other and agrees with Helena's plea for her to bring Gracia's body.
But, Akantha's main concern isn't Helena and her plea. Her main concern was Volya's action. She could see Volya's eyes change when he saw Gracia's lifeless body.
His movement is a bit erratic but not long after that he is like an empty shell and takes Gracia's body somewhere else.
She could feel Volya tried to hide his anger, but at the same time, she feels like something suspicious will happen.
When she asks about Volya Romain, he says to let him cool his head for a while. And with that, she agrees with Romain and didn't meet with Volya until today.
She then stops writing on the paper and tries to remember the injury on Gracia's body. She knows who did it as it is only one well-known assassin or murderer that is skillful using a knife. 'Shadow of Lerwick'.
Akantha then puts the name on the paper and at the end of the paper, she writes,
"Reginald Lawrence has already started his movement again... And another adventurer becomes his latest victim. Will continue to observe both groups."
After that, she puts the message on the pigeon and lets it go to its original owner.
Akantha then rests on the windowsill and sighs. She then mumbles,
"Will everything be fine from now on..."
Suddenly the door opened and Akantha was a bit startled. She looks behind her and sees Volya standing there. But, she feels some uneasy feeling from Volya.
Volya looks at Akantha, smiles, and greet her,
"Good morning Akantha... Did I disturb you in the middle of something?"
"Ah... It's nothing... Sir Portar..." replied Akantha
"Is that so?"
Volya then walks towards one side of the room, but Akantha sharply looks at him. She felt what she saw was quite strong. For someone who just lost someone important to him, Volya could cope with it quite fast. She wants to ask a question, but she remembers that Alma forbids her to ask another person a problem and dwell on their problem.
Volya notices the gaze, drags one of the chairs, sits on it, and then asks her,
"What is it, Akantha?"
"Eh... It's... It's nothing..." replied Akantha
"I know that you are wondering what will happen with me... Am I right?"
"Eh?"
"I could read that from your face,"
Akantha was quite surprised that Volya could read her. As one of the senior members of her group, she thought that she could hide her emotion quite well. She indeed tried to hide it when Volya came into the room, yet here they are.
Volya observes Akantha for a moment, smiles at her, and then says,
"Alright then..."
"Huh?"
"Do you want to eat something for breakfast?"
"Eh?"
"I will pay it for you,"
Akantha ponders for a while and then immediately asks him,
"Are you not going to eat together with Sir Ambros and Lady Petrov?"
"Unfortunately, I can't for today," replied Volya
"Why?"
"Both of them still grieving after Gracia's death..."
"Ah... You are right..."
Akantha knows that quite well. She feels that Helena looks at Gracia as if she is her younger sister, while Romain feels compelled to protect Gracia. But, the last incident robs it of them.
At that moment, she notices something and peeks a bit at Volya. She could see that Volya is making a small unnoticeable smile. But, Volya immediately sees that and says,
"What is it? Are you wondering why I look calm?"
"Eh?"
"Even though I look like this, deep inside me... There is rage boiling inside me."
"..."
"I really want revenge... But, if I do that... It just makes me lower than that man,"
"Is that so..."
Volya looks at Akantha once more, smiles at her, and asks her again,
"What is inside your mind, Akantha? Perhaps you are also wondering why I'm still here at this time..."
"Eh..."
"To tell you the truth, Sir Reginald already received the news about Gracia's passing. And because he looks sure that none of the killers will attack him after the killer takes out their bloodlust, he gave us one day to let our steam off. Aside from that, he said that he have another important meeting,"
"Is that so..."
"It's as if he knows something about the killer himself,"
Akantha looks surprised at Volya and then asks him,
"What do you mean by that?"
"It's just a hunch, as his confidence and his action are unusual," replied Volya
"Then..."
"But, I can't just brag into him and said that he knows the killer without any proof,"
"..."
"That action is the same as suicide, and if he indeed knows something about the killer, he will be in defensive manoeuvre right now," continues Volya
"You are right,"
Volya then walks towards one of the chairs, sits on it, and asks Akantha,
"Then, Akantha..."
"Eh?"
"Could you tell me... How the city feels about Sir Reginald,"
"Ah... They are..., grateful when it's under Sir Reginald," replied Akantha as she smiles at him.
The moment Akantha said that she notices something from Volya. He looks at her with a sharp gaze as if he knows that she lies a bit about it. But before she could say anything, Volya smiles at her, stands up, and then says,
"Is that so? Then it's good!"
"..."
"Let's grab some food before you start your day. You will need it as it will drain your energy more from now on,"
Volya then leaves the dumbfounded Akantha alone in the room and walks downstairs. At the same time, Akantha only could gulp after their conversation.
At that moment, she stands up and continues,
"Who is Volya Portar? How could someone like him... Wait... Portar?!"
At that moment, she remembered someone who acts like Volya. Someone that talks and acts just like him. A man that Alma Taylor said to never mess with. A man with platinum blonde hair and clear blue eyes. The man's name is Dimitri Portar.
She immediately writes her question on a piece of paper and calls one of the pigeons. The question is 'Did Dimitri Portar have any relatives? Isn't he said that he is the only surviving member of The Portar family? Then who is Volya Portar?'.
After she sends off her message, she looks at the door and starts to think once more. What will she do after this and what could she do to clear her uneasiness when she meets again with Volya.
