This was the first time Rose went to royal palace. She only saw it on history book or television. She wished, she could sightseeing more. But she was too nerveous for that.
Like almost every girl in A Country, Rose idolized the princes.
The first prince, Argie, 20, was a warm sunshine. Wise, handsome, cool but kind. What could you hope more for the future king? He's perfect.
The third prince, Arzie, 6, was a cute little bunny. Smart, cute, and cute, and cute! Three times, so it's important. Note it!
The second prince, Archie, 17, was a mysterious one. The only time camera could capture him was when he's with her twin sister. His pictures alone were auctioned with high bidding, because its were rarer than king's.
"He's not out yet, Garry?" Argie asked an old butler in front of second prince room.
"Not yet," Garry frowned deeply. "He said, if someone came in without permission again, he will lock the door."
"I bring a reinforcement here. Let her in," Argie grinned.
"Oh, it's Ms. Peony. Please, Miss, you are our last hope!" Garry's eyes turned shining.
"Eh? But…"
"You go coax him. I will get Arzie, so we could dinner together." Argie said excitedly, patting her on shoulders, then left like a hurricane.
"Your highness, Ms. Peony is here," Garry announced. Then he whisper to her, "Do your best, Miss! I will go to the kitchen, so they can make his favorites."
"He didn't say…" Rose swallowed the rest of her complain, because the old butler and the two maids pushed her in.
The room was dim, but enough for her to see around. It's bigger than her family apartment. Even the bed was more than half her own bedroom. Rose hyped her spirit. With the motivation, if she got the chance, she could take some pictures. Even if she must dead, she could make some money for her family.
'Did he sleep? Should I wake him up?' she hesitated.
The second prince was in pajama. The black silk made his back silhouette looked broad and manly. Like a back of a man, not a young teenager.
'His pictures will go extinct now that the third princess was gone.'
She tried to poke his shoulder, but before she could reach, a hand pulled her hard.
'Hurrrrttttt!!! Damn it, I should learn not poking someone ever again!' she cursed in her mind.
Reality was, she just hissing in pain.
"I heard you were unconscious for two days. Are you okay?" a hoarse voice of a man coming, made Rose forgot the pain on her shoulder.
Dadum… dadum… she could hear her own heartbeat. Not sure if it's caused by the startle or something else.
"I… was okay. Are you alright?" opened her eyes, she has been welcomed by a pair of dark blue eyes. Drowning her like a deep sea.
Archie slipped his left hand under her neck, while the other hand pulled her to his chest.
Rose sobered in panic. She wanted to push and slap, but remembering his status stopped her almost instantly.
'I'm. Not. Okay!! Mom… your daughter lying down in a man's embrace! Will I get pregnant? Oh, no! I will get someone else's body pregnant! How am I going to responsible for this? With my life? But, I was already dying! Peo, I am really sorry….'
Rose crying in her mind, but could do nothing in reality. Her whole body was tense. Afraid to make a bit movement.
"Just a bit more. Just a bit more…," Archie whispered. There has been no particular emotion voiced, but his hand shaking. "I prepared for the worst. But... now I felt half of me was burned to ashes. Empty. I couldn't even cry. Just… because of damn 5 seconds, she's gone. I wondered many why... I wonder many if, but there was no answer."
Rose remembered her family and sadness filled her heart. "You know… some people said, the dead will back to heaven and be stars on the sky. And some said, they never leave, just their soul have no body to return."
She continued, "If I were to die and became a wandering soul, I might very… very afraid to see my loved ones. A part of me… afraid their grief, it would be sad to witness them in despair. But… there was also another part of me, afraid of future. Bit by bit, time would let me fade away and no one would remember me."
Rose sobbed, tried to suppressed her crying.
"So… my prince, it's okay to feel sad. It's okay to feel empty. Until tears coming, wash away your pain, let me cry in your stead. But please, don't lose yourself. Someday… when your sister could muster up courage to see you. Let her see your smile, let her feel your love not change."
Bracking sound startled the two of them. There were two people, a big one and a small one, tumbling on the floor at the doorway.
Argie hurried to cover Arzie's eyes, made the little kid grumbling in dissatisfaction.
"Hey… I knew you sad, all of us were sad too. But still, you shouldn't seduce a young girl like a bad big wolf." Argie scolded.
Rose immediately up, distancing herself from Archie and sitting properly.
"Who cares? Anyway she's my fiancée."
