Oli's hesitation rattled the unknowing spectators. Even Zelsh gulped down some saliva in reservation, glancing at Eeole in search of a response.
"Right now, there's nothing to worry about kid. I'll even wipe this moment from Treeda's memory before I take off, if it'll make you feel better."
Though the answer was to be expected, it still annoyed Lord Treeda and Great Ancestor Troena enough to make them sneer in silence.
"Didn't your new mom just ask to see how strong you've gotten?" Eeole teased. "Are you gonna let her down, or will you accept the challenge and prove that you're worthy of calling yourself my partner?"
Oli drew in a deep breath… and he turned to Trada's nodding apparition.
"So long as you're not risking anything for no reason, I guess I'll play along."
"Oh, I've got a great reason."
Eeole nodded to the young cultivator without skipping a beat.
