It didn't take long for us to reach the center of town. There had been a few people that were crowding around the steel that stood in the middle but they made room for us and scattered when we arrived. They were probably scarred off by our pressure.
It was released subconsciously, but it just made things easier so I didn't try and rain it in.
I was standing in front of the steel. Its metallic sheen gave off a solemn vibe that radiated majesty. I hadn't felt this the last time I was here. I looked up at its towering form and reached out.
A new blue box appeared in front of me. It wasn't like that last time. Before there had only been the class selection tab, now there were more, a lot more options.
(Class Selection) – Locked
(Sustain)
(Damage)
(Speed)
(Magic)
(Misc.)
(Function)
(Special)
Other than the class selection tab, that was locked, there were also 7 new areas. Anthony had described what they were on the way over.
The 5 functions, Sustain, Damage, Speed, Magic and Misc. Where all skill categories. Basically they were skills that could be bought. Like my cold rage skill, Emperor, skill ect. All those where skills and these 5 new tabs would let a person buy them.
No matter what class they were or what they did they could get these skills. It was honestly insane, he had told me he had sat down and looked at the skills for a good 10 minutes one time and couldn't see the end of the list.
This was even more surprising when the list would only show skills that the person could afford. If you didn't have enough EP, you wouldn't see them. The variety of skills that could be obtained were too numerous.
As the names of the tabs described all the skills that could be acquired, so did their name sake. So a sustain type of skill would be in the sustain tab. And a damage type skill would be in the damage tab.
Honestly I was very tempted to have a look at the skills I could get with my amount of Entertainment points I had. My eyes shifted to a small counter with my amount of points. I could see it clearly when I opened the steel's box.
(119,946 Entertainment Points)
I had already amassed 90 thousand points before I killed the elder, after clearing out everything and making it back I was now rich. Stinking rich, really. It was better to get the evolution serum and EPC Before anything else.
I looked down at the function tab. I was told that was where I could get the EPC's. It was a must to have it before you could buy a function. I wasn't entirely sure why though. I had gotten the kin function without an EPC, but all the functions that could be bought here required you to have it.
This included the Party and guild system.
Clicking on it, the new screen appeared.
(Party Function – 500 EP)
(Guild Function – 100,000 EP)
(Entertainment Point Collector – 1000 EP)
There was nothing else, I won't lie I was expecting something more. But thinking about it, I was sure that something else would appear later. If the restriction of EP, restricted what I can see, there was a possibility that higher functions are there, but I don't have enough.
I quickly bought 3 EPC's and 1 party function. I had no use for it, but the party function might be useful later. The image of Kuro popped into my head, but I shook it off quickly. Grabbing the 3 gauntlets that appeared in the air I gave 2 to Ella and Rose.
By now Ella didn't need my help equipping gear and Rose was a quick learner. They both equipped their EPC's and I did the same.
I then turned my attention to the last tab.
(Special)
I knew this was where the Evolution system was. I clicked on it slowly.
(Evolution Serum (Weak) – 10,000 EP)
(Evolution Serum (Medium) – 20,000 EP)
(Evolution Serum (Strong) – 50,000 EP)
(Evolution Serum (Superior) – 75,000 EP)
(Evolution Serum (Divine) – 100,000 EP)
"Haha."
I let out a weak laugh, of course there were better evolution serum's. I was hoping that I could splurge a little of my wealth to deck myself out in gear and find skills after getting the serum but I had my suspicions.
Luckily I had clicked on this first before buying much. I would have a measly amount left after buying the divine evolution serum. I had no clue if there was a higher one. But I don't think I can wait much longer. If I don't evolve Ella she will stall at level 20 and so will the rest of us.
I don't have the time to collect more Points. The worst case would be her losing control of her evolution. If she didn't have this when that happened we would really lose out.
I check its information to see how good this new stuff was.
(Evolution Serum (Divine) – Used to evolve an infected virus strain to the next level, works regardless of strain type or variant. Works on all infected and will push them to their limits of evolution. There is no better serum to evolve. Other factors will impact and increase the final evolution of infected. Only usable before first evolution)
I was relieved, there was no better serum, and it was the best!
I quickly used almost all my points to buy it. My excitement was hard to control. With this Ella would become more powerful, and I would be one step closer to killing that god. I almost wanted to give Ella it now, and then let her evolve right here and now.
But I forced myself to calm down. If she evolved here, everyone would know she was an infected and I would have to fight my way out. There was also no telling what might happen when she evolves. Of course it would be safer to evolve her in the city somewhere, I would just have to find a quiet and secluded place.
Maybe I could go into one of the shops?
Doing it outside the town we could be attacked by zombies. I had no clue how long an evolution would take, and had only seen the end product. I figured that most zombies evolved at night and didn't take a lot of time, but I was going to be cautious. This would be a big moment.
After she evolved, I would have to figure out my own plans.
After clicking on the serum a small metal vial appeared in my hand and I felt a huge amount of energy and pressure appear. I was shocked for a second by the intensity that I felt, I quickly shuttled it to my ring and looked over at Anthony. He had stiffened from the pressure and I could see that the others that were loitering around also stiffened.
Some of them looked at me in awe, thinking that the pressure had come from me and so did Anthony. I would let them have that mistake; the pressure I had just felt was ridiculous. It was enough for me to freeze, not to mention everyone else.
Ella who was standing next to me also stopped and stared at the disappearing vial. I felt a strong urge from her to instantly drink the vial. Her feelings assaulted me and I thought she might pounce any second. I quickly sent some mental words to her and calmed her down.
Her eyes turned slightly red and the purple shade they usually had changed. Luckily no one saw and she regained herself quickly. But I could feel her anticipation for whatever was in the vial. This serum really was serious stuff.
Rose who was also behind me showed a reaction, but it was just due to the pressure, she wasn't innately craving for the serum. It must only affect infected. Nothing for her had appeared in the special section. It would have been cool if I could have helped her evolve into something more than a dryad.
But I would think about that later. Anthony had regained himself by now and was waiting for us. I could see he had some more questions about what just happened, but I didn't want to talk about it. Right now I just wanted to find a place to get this evolution done.
"So what do you want to do now? If you don't mind, we can go and meet up with some of the guys that survived."
I knew he was talking about some of the people I knew from school. I did want to meet them, but this took priority. I could meet them afterwards. I just had to find them. I wanted to reminisce on old times and talk some more with people I knew. But it could wait.
I agonized over the decision for a good minute or 2 before I decide to meet them later.
"I have some things I need to do. I'll meet you later at the gate. Give me 2 hours and I'll see you there and we can talk more man."
I could see the disappointment on his face. After meeting up after such a long time I was also bummed to have to split so quickly. It was nice to talk to a friend. His face changed once or twice as he wanted to try and convince me, but in the end he said nothing.
It was only 2 hours.
He shook his head slowly with a small smile and then gave me a nod. Walking over he offered his hand.
"See you in 2 hours then!"
I gripped his hand tightly and gave him a nod.
"See you then. Tell the others I'll be over quick.
"Yeah they'll be happy someone else lived through this."
With that he gave me a small wave and moved off to the south. I looked at his back as he disappeared and decided to quickly get this over with. I could take a break every now and then.
I quickly went to the west looking for a place to do this.
Hey guys here's the chapter. Hope you enjoy.
Sorry what was that? The evolution hasn't started yet? Well it happened right around here, give me a sec.
