Yeap, Ella was now registered as my kin; she even had my last name.
But other than that, I had to take a good look at my stats. With AGI being my highest stat I realized that my INT and SPR were sorely lacking compared to the others.
I don't know what they will do in the future, but I remember than SPR affects intangible forces or whatever. That's the same thing that is now binding me and Ella.
This bond has severely affected me, so SPR is probably really important down the track. And INT can help me think faster and better, this would be good in a fight.
With me being able to easily kill the regular infected at the minute, they would be good attributes to invest in.
I'm not going to neglect STR, AGI and END but, I should really balance them out so they are not so skewered.
With my mind made up I invested 2 points in INT and SPR and put the last one into END, I've got enough speed and strength. My status now looked like this.

After putting the attributes in, I didn't feel all that different. If I put them into STR for example I would feel a slight difference in my body. But with these 2 attributes I didn't feel much.
Whatever, this is for the long run!
I had to reassure myself, I wasn't sure if this would actually help me in the future, but if you've played games long enough, you know that all stats have a purpose.
Having finished my level up, I went and picked up my empty bag and looked at Ella. I motioned towards her to get her attention.
"Ok now Ella, you have to follow me"
I still don't think she understood me, but maybe she'll pick up what I'm saying after a while. She walked over and I bent down with a look of seriousness in my eyes. She felt my grimness as I stared at her and concentrated even harder.
"Ok Ella, when you follow me this time, you have to be really quiet and stay close. Ok now nod your head in agreement and follow."
I coached her through how to accept what I was saying, by nodding my own head, and tried to get across my point. She blankly nodded her head and moved closer.
Ok, time for me to go collect all the drops. I was treating the globes like normal dropped items from a game. I wasn't as lucky with these drops as when I looted the special, as if they globes new I had no trouble killing the regular infected, all of the 21 bodies that I looted only gave my entertainment points. Which was a huge joke in itself as I have no clue what they were used for.
After that was done I moved towards the stairs.
There were 2 fleets of stairs on the east and west side of each floor, because I had cleared out this floor yesterday I had to use them to get out. The elevators weren't working and I wouldn't trust them anyways. You can at least see what's on a floor through one of the doors leading to it.
I made my way over and slowed down as I reached the door, it was wide open. This was where the other infected must have come from. I put up my hands and told Ella to wait as I took a peek through the door. There was no noise and I couldn't see any infected going up or down. But I did have to stop and think.
"Should I go up, or down?"
It halted me as I considered. I mean if I went down, I can go straight to the bottom floor and leave the hospital. I probably wouldn't have to deal with a lot of regular infected on the way out and could try and find some place to hide.
But was this really viable?
As 2/3 of the population had become an infected, it was highly likely that there were a butt load of infected currently outside. If I didn't find a place to quickly hide, or got surrounded by hundreds of those things, nothing could save me.
The other option was to move up the stairs and head to the top floor. Not the roof but the 15th floor.
By going to the top floor and clearing it out, all I have to do is barricade the stair way doors and I would have a makeshift base.
I could hide up there and go out to find things, there's no reason for the infected to head to the top floor, unless I make a lot of noise.
Hell I could even start to clear my way down the hospital, and rack up some EXP, and I needed it. The amount of EXP I needed to level was getting out of hand. I mean I was only level 5 and I needed 10k EXP. If I didn't level quickly, the infected would become too strong for me to handle.
To stay ahead of the infected, I needed to kill a lot of them fast. My best bet was to go up. Going outside and then trying to level would be very, very hard.
"Ok I'll go up"
Making up my mind, I went back and grabbed Ella. I pulled her along as I started to climb up. Because of the floor heights, there were 2 flights of stairs between each floor, with a door corresponding to the level. Each level had a sign board above it.
As we approached the 9th floor door, I became quite, this door was also open. I had to make it to the 15th floor before I started, I didn't want to have any unnecessary problems. I put my finger to my lips as I turned to Ella and picked her up in a princess carry.
It would be a lot easier if I just carry her, with my 16 in STR she felt light in my arms. She also looked pretty happy as I carried her, so she didn't make much of a fuss. I quickly moved past the door, not making a sound, and making sure nothing had seen me.
I had to repeat this process another 6 times; luckily a few of the doors were closed and already had locks on them. After the 10th floor, it seemed that the areas weren't for the public. A few (Authorized Personnel Only) signs were hung up; I don't think they'll mind me coming up here. It at least made it easier for me.
I finally put down Ella when we reached the 15th floor, she wasn't very happy about it. This one was also padlocked, but I didn't want to make much noise.
I retrieved my sharp blade form my ring, it was a lot easier for me to store it there. The ring worked a lot like my gear, if I thought about it, it would appear in my hands, saving me a lot of time.
After pulling out the blade, I got on my knee and wedged the blade tip into the padlock.
"It should be sharp enough."
The blade sliced through the padlock like it was butter. It fell to the ground creating little noise, but I tensed slightly. I wasn't sure how potent their ears were. After a minute or two of no activity I breathed a sigh of relief.
I opened the door and took a look inside.
Hey guys here's the chapter, i hope you guys liked it. Nothing much happened, but i did need to get the whole, what is he going to be doing. I think it's smarter for him to stay in the hospital and rack up exp.
But i would love to hear any feedback on the chapter, and any mistakes i may have made.
Also drop a review if you have the time, love to look at what people think of the novel so far.
