章 19: I was eliminated?
Just as the thought slipped into her mind Nicole couldn't believe it. However she didn't show any of this on her face. After breakfast, Nicole slowly opened the company website and looked at the names posted for the black and white swan.

White Swan: Veronica Reyna
Black Swan: Amber Williams
Nicole's eye's constricted for a second before returning to normal. Nicole's reaction was very slight, and if one wasn't paying attention, they would miss it just like Veronica.
Veronica watched in glee as her sister opened the results only to be disappointed by her lack of response. Veronica couldn't help herself from saying, "Sis, are you okay? I know you must be disappointed, but this is just our first audition. Not everyone can be good at everything if-"
"I'm fine," Nicole said lightly cutting off her sister's long-winded speech. The fake show of affection was making her nauseous, and the way her sister was not even trying to hide the glee in her voice made Nicole speechless.
Nicole couldn't help but sneer at her sister's speech.
'Am I okay?' Did she care?
'I must be disappointed' but you are ecstatic, aren't you?
'Only our first audition' in our last life didn't you aim to make it my last?
'Not everyone?' You mean I can't compare to you, right?
Nicole just chuckled at all the hidden meanings her sister could back into a few sentences.
Indeed she was shocked that she didn't get the role. From her past experience as well as the expressions on the judges' faces she could tell she had all but passed the audition. So where did it go wrong?
The director!
Yes, that must be it. He was the only one with enough power to change the decision, but the question is; why did he?
Don't think of it as Nicole being conceited. With her natural aptitude as well as her years of experience in the field and with her mother if she couldn't even beat a bunch of newbie artist, she might as well find a block of tofu to suicide with!
Nicole couldn't think of a reason, and she wouldn't brood over it either. She needs to think of her next course of action.
The audition may be the most significant success of the year, but it wasn't the only success. With her acting, she could take one of the good opportunities and turn it great. Though her popularity wouldn't reach the height, she wished to attain she could compare to Amber's fame at the very least.
Though this was not her original plan and her beginning would be less explosive, it will still leave quite an impact. Nicole walked upstairs to change while contemplating her next course of action.
Veronica who had been ignored gnashed her teeth in anger as she looked at Veronica with distaste and disdain thinking, 'You think your something huh, still couldn't land a simple audition like this humph.'
With that thought, her mood instantly improved as she walked back to her room to get ready for her call back.
After Lunch, Ms. Sofia arrived and Veronica came up to greet her with a bright smile. Ms. Sofia nodded to her before scanning her eyes across the room as if looking for someone.
Veronica was not amused by the lack of response she got from Ms. Sofia but knowing she was someone specially hired by their mother she plasters a smile on her face before saying, "My sister is still in her room. She must be devastated by the results."
As Veronica said this with a show of remorse and pity
Ms. Sofia lightly raised an eyebrow in response to Veronica's comment.
Seeing this Veronica continued, "My sister is very weak-willed and can't handle setbacks so it might take her a while to get over this. I think you might want to hold off on getting her jobs for a while so she can recover from her slump."
Not seeing the reaction she wanted Veronica hesitated for a while before continuing, "She also said she doesn't want to take on any jobs for a while..." while mumbling under her breath she continued, "Something about not being able to handle the pressure. "
"I don't want to take on jobs? How come I don't remember saying that sis" A voice suddenly came from above. The two watched as Nicole dressed in a simple white dress descended and came before them.
When she arrived Veronica knew she couldn't continue with her original statement, so she quickly switched tones, "Sis, how can you be like this! I'm just concerned about you!"
Nicole turned towards her direction and raised an eyebrow before ignoring her and focusing on Ms. Sofia.
The dismissive glance Veronica received lit a fire inside her. Lately, her sister had been ignoring her more and more, and she had had enough of it. But with Ms. Sofia there and with her clearly in the wrong, she could only keep quiet to prevent more trouble from coming her way.
"Ms. Sofia, I have a few ideas for other possible auditions I could take if-" Nicole started but was cut off by Ms. Sofia
"Why do you need to audition for another role?"
Nicole and Veronica looked at her in confusion.
This time Ms. Sofia was generous and added another sentence of explanation, "You passed the audition so why are you looking for a backup?"
