After taking bath and shave my beard, I take the best suit I have in my closet. I spend enough time in front of the mirror to make sure I'd look good in Ming Er eyes. When I'd to leave my room, Ming Er is already waiting for me. She's wearing a red traditional dress with light make up on her face. Her long hair is rolled up and makes a bun, tied with a hairpin. Although she's not as beautiful as a movie actress, she has her own charm as a woman. With this traditional dress, she looks just like my previous Ming Er, when we married before.
Seeing me looking at her without blinking eyes, she bashfully smile and asking me,
"Am I looks good?"
"Good? It's more than good. It's adorable!"
"Really?"
"Are you doubting your husband words now?"
"Um, no. But every time you say I look good, my confidence also raise"
"How am I look?"
"Look handsome," she said that while fixing the tie in my neck. It's still hard to fix the tie for ancient people like me although I already inherit memory of the previous owner on how to fix a tie. But still, I make it awful.
"Now' its handsome and neat" she raises her thumb up.
"Can we go now?"
"Yes!"
We both go downstairs holding our hands together again. There's no customer like before so I just close the restaurant and go to city hall to register our marriage. We take the bus to go there since I'm don't have my own car nor know how to ride it.
In the bus, we sat next to an old couple that looking at us with an excited look on their eyes. The elder woman even ask to Ming er,
"Child, you look so happy, are you two just married?"
"No, auntie, we haven't married yet. We're on our way to city hall to register our marriage"
"Oh, you're going married today. That's good, you two look love each other and I pray your marriage will last forever"
"Thank you, auntie. I'm happy because today I'm married to someone I love and can give what I need, someone that I can spend the rest of my life with"
That elderly woman nodded hearing Ming Er words.
"Isn't that nice, hubby? Girls right now only chase what they want and not care what they need. They think as long as they can have a handsome and rich man, their life will be happy. Child, you make a wise decision, look at me and my husband. When we going to married, he not promised my many things, he only says that he will love me and take care of me, and he fulfills what he said at that time. we just celebrate our 50 years wedding anniversary yesterday"
The elderly woman hugs her husband hand and his husband only smiling and pats his wife's hand.
"Really? Congratulation, auntie. I hope our marriage also can last long as auntie" Ming Er said that with enthusiastic expression.
"You can do that child. Young man, take care of your wife with your utmost care. Make her happy"
"I will auntie" I reply her politely
"Ah too bad our stop is next to the bus stop. I still like to talk to such a loving couple. We wish you a happily married life child"
"Thank you, auntie" Me and Ming Er reply her together.
The elderly woman nodded and rises from her seat to get out from the bus. His husband who follows behind her said with an apologetic look in his eyes,
"Forgive my wife, she a bit excited after our wedding anniversary yesterday"
"It's okay uncle. That's something you both can proud of and we envy you two can stay together for such a long time. we hope we can be like you too"
"Ah, in this case, I also congratulate you on your wedding, may God bless you with happy and prosperous life"
"Thank you uncle" Me and Ming Er reply her together.
After they both leave the bus, Ming Er look at me with a happy look in her eyes
"Ben Ben, do you think we can like them? Married for 50 years?"
"Um, I want to. If possible it's not only 50 years, but 60 or even 70 years or maybe more"
"Mmm, I'm already imagining we surrounded by our son and daughter, our grandchild, our grand grandchild, all congratulate us for our wedding anniversary"
"And we going to make it happen by married today right?"
"Um. After we married, what we're going to do?"
"We go shopping first. I don't have anything left to eat tonight"
Ming Er chuckled upon hearing what I'm planning after we married. Well, I mean it. Can't I let her eat leftover food everyday right?
