章 30: ( THE LAND OF WAVES PART-1 )
after sarutobi left, sakura ask kakashi
Sakura: sensei why have we given a C-rank mission instead of a D-rank mission like other genins.
kakashi: well you guys can only blame yourself for this.
sakura: what doy mean sensei.
kakashi: well it is not easy for a bunch of genins to hospitalised a jounin, after seeing your planning and coordination in the survival training, hokage decided to give you three a C-rank mission.
hearing this sakura nodded.
kakashi: you guys do not need to worry, at worst it will be an escort mission, but since it is only an C-rank there will not be any battles.
the trio nodded and start asking for kakashi's advice regarding ninjutsu, genjutsu and taijutsu and kakashi calmly cleared their doubts.
after around one hour the trio left the hospital.

naruto was meditating while sitting crossed legged on his bed, as he was in deep meditation he starts thinking about the details of their upcoming mission.
in original work, team-7 first mission was an escort mission in the land of waves. they were assigned to protect the bridge builder tazuna. at first, it was supposed to be a non-combat mission, but it soon turned into a B-rank mission when they were attacked by two hidden mist chunnins, and then it escalated to an A-rank mission when encountered the missing-nin momochi Zabuza and his helper haku.
thinking about Haku naruto suddenly open his eyes and a deep look appear on his face as far as he can remember haku was a war orphan from the Yuki clan in the land of waves. he was being persued by local forces because of his kekkei genkai. haku had a caring personality and he dislike killing others and eventually his personality became the reason for his demise. in order to protect Zabuza from kakashi's Chidori he used himself as a meat shield and ended up dying.
thinking till here naruto's eyes became dead calm and a resolute look appear on his face.
naruto: sigh... haku, if possible I will try to save you with all my might.
after this naruto start doing preparation for the upcoming mission, he bought standard food like wheat and rice for around five hundred since he knew that. currently the land of waves is suffering from food shortage after the war and is in urgent need of food. as naruto was observant enough to see and understand other's suffering. he decided to help in any way possible.
naruto spend all his savings and bought food supply and essential mission equipment and return to his home, after returning he sealed the food and other stuff inside the storage sealing scrolls. after doing all this he continued with his training.
he was strong enough to fight a low-level jounins without using his trump cards and can even fight low-level jounins after releasing the first impulse but all this is not enough assurance for him, as he knew that the dangers which will follow him in the future are far greater than his current strengt . he was clear about his current strength. so he continued to push his mind and body to their limits.
some times sasuke train with him, at first he was really shocked after seeing naruto's capabilities but eventually accepted them and they continued to fight and train with each other.
while training naruto decided to check his status.

before hokage could say anything, the door of the mission department was slowly opened and an old man comes in. the old man had grey beard and a twisted cloth tied on his forehead. he was holding bottle of sake in his hand, looking at them he said.
tazuna: i am your client, my name is tazuna and i am a master bridge builder.
sarutobi continues...
sarutobi: yes, this time your job is to escort him to his home-village in the land of waves and protect him from any harm.
hearing this kakashi nodded and just as they were about to begin their mission tazuna again interrupt them with a lazy look on his face.
tazuna: hokage-sama are you sure that I will be fine with these brats and especially that blonde with an idiotic face.
naruto: old what did you say.
tazuna: ya! you look like an idiot are you even a ninja.
said tazuna with in a lazy tone, hearing him sasuke and sakura laughed.
naruto: old man, I will kill you.
just as naruto was about to get his revenge kakashi intervened.
kakashi: naruto, what is the point of killing the person you are supposed to protect.
hearing kakashi naruto snorted and looked at tazuna with a wronged expression but deep inside his eyes, there was nothing but calmness.

twenty minutes later
konoha's main gate.
kakashi: listen naruto, sasuke and sakura. during a battle your first priority is to protect tazuna, is that clear.
naruto/sasuke/sakura: yes sensei.
kakashi: ok, now let's go.
after this, they begin their journey to the land of waves.

far away from konoha.
inside a jungle.
the trio was walking in front while Kakashi was walking at the back. tazuna was in the middle.
unknown to them, that they are being monitored by two ninjas, their face was covered by a breathing mask and their arms were covered by metal gauntlets which were continuously dripping with a purple colour liquid.
