章 56: The Brawl
Trying to not show his weak spot, James did his best to throw punches with the arm that was not hurt. However, this took the attention of his opponent as he noticed that James was just using one of his arms. Upon this, James could see that he opponent had a smile on his face.
From that point on, his opponent tried to dodge to the side that James was not using that much. Moreover he also aimed at the shoulder of James that was injured. Noticing this, James had to switch back to a more defensive stance. Most of the time now was used for dodging and avoiding getting hit onto the shoulder.
From that point on, James was now the one that was on the losing edge. His opponent threw another punch towards the shoulder that was injured. But this time, James had not enough time to avoid the punch. Clearly the punch was about to hit.
Not being able to avoid the punch, James decided to counter and at least hand a hit himself. As both punches hit, both James and his opponent staggered back from the impact. However, James was at a more disadvantageous situation as he got hit at his injured shoulder.
Walking up to James, who was holding his shoulder in pain, James' opponent had a grin on his face. He clearly enjoyed seeing James on his knees in pain. Step by step he got closer, before preparing himself to lunge a punch towards James. Just as he took a step to move towards James, James noticed that he flew back a few feet.
Shocked by this, James looked up to see that Francis was the one that threw the punch. Looking back to Francis' opponent, he saw that he was lying on the ground with some swollen cheeks. Clearly, Francis overpowered his opponent and now he was helping James out with his opponent.
Now that James had a bit time left, he looked how the other fights were progressing. To his surprise he saw that Edgar was lying on the ground holding his stomach. Clearly Christopher was the one that took advantage of his surprise attack and continued on pouncing on Edgar.
As for Warren, he was still even with his opponent. There was no clear winner in that fight. As James was looking around, he noticed that a group was heading their way, not sure who they were, James took the initiative and call to everyone, "Be careful, someone is approaching us!"
With those words, everyone stopped what they were doing and looked over to James, before looking at the direction he was looking at. As they realized that he was speaking the truth, they disengaged and walked to their specific groups.
The one that was approaching was the commander and his soldiers. The two groups disengaged just in time, as the commander wanted to say something to them, yet held back, clearly he was about to punish both parties, but as everyone acted as nothing was happening, he ignored it all, with an angry face.
As the two groups moved to their own way, James got close to Christopher and thanked him for his help. Upon hearing this, Christopher laughed and said, "Don't worry. I know him. He ones came to silver city to hack havoc. This is a payback for his behavior."
Shocked by what he heard, James could not help but burst into laughter. He was happy that he found someone that had a common enemy with him. From that day onward, he should definitely improve his relation with these two knights.
