The following days were not eventful. James spends the majority of his time training with the wooden sword to get his strength back. The first few days he had difficulty putting much strength into his arm, as his shoulder formed a hindrance. Yet as time went by, James started to get used to it and his moves started to become more flexible and agile.
Other then training, James spent his time with Sir Edward. Being one of the only ones that knew where Sir Edward was, he felt it upon him to visit him. Francis also joined up when he went to Sir James. The three talked about various topics, including the situation back home.
A topic that Sir Edward mentioned to both James and Francis was how the reward system worked and what they could expect. "The system is mainly based on the amount of heads you have taken at the end of the months of demon. Moreover some soldiers that showed outstanding performance will get bonuses. Considering your performance until now, I think thank that both of you would definitely get quite good rewards. Moreover you both showed outstanding performance in the beginning, so you can also expect some bonuses." Sir Edward explained.
Looking at James he continued, "However, unfortunately, because of your injury, your performance has dropped. I don't think that this will affect the accumulated bonuses and rewards until now, but do not expect any returns for these days."
Both James and Francis understood what he meant with it. Because James got injured, their performance lacked and other groups took the spotlight. James even head that his undeclared rival Edgar had been claiming the spotlight the previous battles.

The period of recovery sure took a lot out of James. Before he noticed, they were already two weeks into the third month. Waking up with a sore shoulder, James stood up and got dressed preparing to leave his room. The wound on his shoulder had improved drastically. He was even able to pick up a sword again.
The past two weeks since the talk with Sir Edward, he spent most of his time on recovery and regaining his strength. The visits to Sir Edward started to drop as well, as James started to concentrate on his recovery. He heard that last week there was another big battle, and again Edgar and his crew claimed the spotlight.
Feeling his shoulder, James knew that he was ready to set out and ones again join at least the patrol teams. If his recovery continued like this, within a few days he would be able to enter big scaled battlefield ones more.
Leaving his room towards the courtyard, James could hear cheers coming from the direction he was headed to. Curious what it could be, James picked up his phase. Arriving at the courtyard, it was full with soldiers who were looking up to the balcony as they were chanting cheers.
Listening closely, James heard that the cheers were in praise of the prince. Looking up to the direction everyone was looking at, James saw that the prince stood there. However this time, no one was supporting him. He even wore his armor. Clearly, the prince had recovered and ready to join everyone ones again to fight the demonic beasts.
Even James felt his morale increase at the sight of the prince. After today, the demonic beasts should be careful ones again, as the prince had returned.
