Beam of bright white shot forward from Mays's position. It was without doubt the skill used by Mays to counter King Hitam Cair's ultimate skill. The white beam cut through the dark energy easily before it passed through the left chest of the black dragon.
Everything happened in the blink of an eye. From the moment the shield surrounding Mays shot that white beam until the unexpected fatal attack which landed on King Hitam Cair, the time taken for that whole event were less than one second.
''How... how in the world...''
It was obvious how unresigned King Hitam Cair currently was. His strongest attack was countered just like that. What the hell was this godkin in front of him? Even back in the great war five years ago, there was no information about this kind of formidable godkin at all. If only he was present five years ago, the great war would have ended way earlier for sure.
With a huge hole on his chest, not even the ultimately powerful dragon could maintain his calm anymore. He knew for sure that this godkin was on different tier compared to the rest. He might even be on par with his own father, the black dragon king.
For the first time, there was a dense fear accumulating in his heart. Not the fear one always felt when they were dying but the fear where one realized that the future couldn't be altered.
''Any other trick you're keeping up your sleeve? Use them fast or you might have no chance to do so later.''
Mays was as noncommittal as previously. His right hand was once again placed behind his back. With a demeanour of a martial arts grandmaster, he once again provoked the injured black dragon to attack.
Behind his calm facade, he was actually sweating profusely on his back. Only Drasca knew how badly injured Mays currently was. Taking on the most powerful attack of a gold ranked insane boss was a bold move indeed. There was no way for Mays to escape it unscratched.
But obviously Mays couldn't be blamed for it. This was the first time he utilized this sacred arte after all. He wanted to figure out how strong this skill of his was. Testing it against a middling opponent like King Hitam Cair was a perfect choice. At least, he knew now that he couldn't take King Hitam Legam's ultimate attack head on for sure.
''That's it. I give up. Father's advice is indeed spot on.''
''His advice on us godkins, perhaps?''
''Yes. He did say the only people who could triumph over us was the godkins. The others was never an opponent to us.''
''Not even the other exalts of this continent?''
''Yep, not even them.''
King Hitam Cair's injuries was quite fatal. Even if he used all his remaining magic power to regenerate, he couldn't dispel the power of corruption eating his body from within. At most, his power would only be half the level compared to his peak right now. For a black dragon like him, a power with holy light disposition was totally his bane.
Since he knew his end was inevitable, he became talkative all of a sudden. His vision right now was beyond blurry hence he was unable to figure out the exact condition of his opponent who stood still not too far from him.
''Can you tell me one thing, godkin?''
''What is it?''
''How did the old god select you people?''
''You really want to know?''
Rather than asking if the old god was the one sending these godkins here, King Hitam Cair's question revealed the fact that they already predicted these godkins to be sent by the old god into HeavensTale years ago. Mays easily caught that clue and continued talking to him confidently.
''Please enlighten me.''
''By sheer luck.''
''For real?''
''The fact that I only arrived here this year was proof enough. Surely you never heard of the name Red Wargod Mays back in the war five years ago didn't you?''
''No wonder. You really just arrived here. No wonder... Cough... Cough!!''
Heavily coughing up blood, King Hitam Cair stopped trying to heal his wound. He gave up trying after he wasted half of his magic power to barely heal the exterior wound on his body. The attack power of Mays's white beam was no joke. It's destructive power was comparable to his own ultimate skill.
Obviously this black dragon didn't know that the white beam was actually a reflection of his own ultimate skill which had been tempered by Mays's forbidden arte. The prowess of that attack was totally the same even after it undergone a drastic change, from dark energy to holy energy.
''Just kill yourself. I don't have a habit of killing defenceless opponent.''
What Mays just said totally didn't match with his usual action. He could destroy village of vampires without batting an eye. What difference could a heavily injured fighter made? The only reason why he said that was because he was currently unable to take down this black dragon by himself. Hell, walking forward while maintaining his facade was taxing enough for him right now.
The black dragon threw Mays a sceptical look but he didn't say anything. He was still shocked at the fact that this single godkin managed to counter his ultimate skill. He watched as Mays swing his left hand downward, removing the domain surrounding the two of them.
The whole world was once again visible to King Hitam Cair. But the situation was not favourable to him for sure. Surrounding them now were hundreds of spirits army together with six of his former companions who had already surrendered to his opponent. Both Ria and Hallel also stood close by, a few steps away from them all.
''This is it, I guess. Hey godkin. Can you do me a favour?''
''Oh, what is it?''
''Can you show me your strongest attack?''
''Why so?''
''So that I can pass on without regret.''
''If that is your wish.''
----------------------------------
None of the spirits changed their expression as they heard the conversation. To them, it was normal for the enemies to submit when facing their supreme master. Even all the spirits under Ria felt the same.
This was not the case for all six gold ranked insane bosses who just surrendered though. They knew how domineering this black dragon was. Never once in his life he had lowered himself like this. What in the world happened inside that black spherical dome which turned this arrogant man into a selfless person who admitted his inferiority willingly.
Chugging down the third vial of greater life potion, Mays was now as good as new. His previous injuries were now nonexistent. He couldn't just drink potion back when he was inside the domain together with the black dragon earlier.
Doing that would only reveal the fact that he was also badly injured from their clash. He needed to maintain his strong and mysterious facade till the very end. He then turned to Ria and whispered something to her which she responded with a nod.
''What I'm going to show you is a combination attack of me and my queen. Please keep your eyes open as this will be the final scene you witness before going to the underworld.''
''Gladly.''
King Hitam Cair stood still in his domineering dragon form as he watched Mays preparing to make his move. He could sense that the power surroundings the two godkins rose abruptly at a terrifying pace.
''Resistance Up! Heavens Vanguard! Elemental Resonance!''
With both his buff skills activated, Mays glanced at Ria signalling his readiness for the latter to proceed. There was no need for word as Ria who stood at a distance away immediately unleashed her signature attack aimed at Mays.
''Chaotic Apocalypse Slash!''
It was fortunate that this time Ria was not on land when she used this skill. With the buff from Drasca added to the fray, the strength of this attack was multiplied tremendously. It was totally nerve wrecking that most of the gold ranked insane bosses present were sweating profusely at the moment.
Every single one of them were having the same thought right now. They all acknowledged the fact that this attack was strong enough to injure them severely. If a normal Chaotic Apocalypse Slash was deadly enough for normal gold ranked bosses, one could easily imagine how deadly it was after being amplified five times over.
This was indeed the first time King Hitam Cair and the other gold ranked insane bosses present witnessing a top tier godkins unleashing their strongest attack, the ultimate skill of a secret class players.
Normal attack from a godkins who received the buff from Drasca wouldn't have that same overwhelming strength. These secret class were after all specially tailored to be extremely compatible with buffs from top ranked insane bosses.
The sky split into two as the slashing force passed through the air, approaching Mays who stood strong in the middle of the crowd. The moment that domineering attack landed on Mays, a heavy cracking sound echoed all over.
''KHEEEEEENNNGGGGG!!''
His strongest channelling skill, Elemental Resonance reached its limit shortly after Ria's attack landed on him. This time, even spatial cracks appeared out of nowhere. The combination of their two ultimate attack produced such heaven defying phenomenon which made every single soul present dumbfounded by the sight of it.
''Rest in peace, King Hitam Cair. Chaotic Resonance!''
Mays's tone was gentle. He was indeed calm and composed at the moment. The main reason why he bothered to use this ultimate skill was to show off to everyone present how strong he really was. His intent was simple. One mighty display to remove all doubts on him.
The dark sky turned bright that very moment. This brightness was not the common brightness during dawn but it was way more intense. The light were too bright where everyone present couldn't help but close their eyes to ensure that their eyes wouldn't burst from watching the intense light.
''BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!''
A loud explosion sound from quite a distance away dragged everyone back to their sense. That explosion sound echoes all over as if it was trying to inform every living being on the continent about the might of the explosion. The bright light disappeared in less than ten seconds leaving none on its path.
Even mountains located hundred kilometers ahead of the area disappeared, leaving a trail of destruction all over. The landscape of the surrounding area changed drastically as if it had just been scooped by a large spoon which spanned countless kilometers all over several dukedom.
''What kind of attack is that?''
Even the usually calm Romeo couldn't help but to blurt out that comment.
''Something only godkins could do.''
The one answering him was Assym who stood beside him.
''Even hundreds of us won't be enough to take on that attack.''
''Damn right.''
''Now I know it was a right choice to submit.''
''That is totally true.''
All four other gold ranked insane bosses now shared the same view after that display of overwhelming strength. Not even exalts in the top five rank could have an attacking power that high. The moment that attack was unleashed, everyone present readily accepted the fact that godkins triumphed over them.
If even those gold ranked insane bosses were dumbfounded by that almighty attack, one could easily guessed the reaction of those elves survivors who witnessed that attack. Most of the elves survivors were now grovelling on the floor, worshipping Mays and his companions as if they were real gods.
Sikacak and Comel could only shook their head when they saw most of their brethren acted that way. Elves were never a race who put faith in high regard. They only believed in strength. Once they witness a display of strength which defied their common sense, they immediately decided to worship that existence who wielded the overwhelming strength.
''Master, i can't keep it up anymore.''
''Eh, why?''
''I don't know the exact reason but it might be because of the attack you performed earlier. It over drafted all my energy hence I can't maintain the enhancement anymore.''
''It's okay. You should get some rest for now.''
''Yes, master. As you will.''
------------------------------
Dawn came as leisurely as ever signalling the closure of the long, arduous night. The war had been won but the destruction resulted from the fight remained. Even Sikacak himself lost counts on how many casualties his side suffered during the war. The only reason why he remained in a good mood was that he managed to grab onto a great backer during his time of dire.
Mays, Ria and Hallel had been resting inside the palace after killing King Hitam Cair. The rest of the spirits were waiting outside the palace as they helped the elves in sorting out their devastated capital. The one leading all of them were Ria's four general. Mays's five spirits observed everything as they stood on the back of Flamence.
''What is that?''
''What? What?''
Silvia the ranger was the first to notice a commotion which broke out not too far from the city. Mira was excited about it but her sight was not as good as Silvia hence she couldn't see that far ahead.
''Those are people from Misfit Squad. They come together with their spirits in a group of fifty.''
''Mira, notify master about this. We will go and greet them first.''
''Right away. Mira will be done in a jiffy.''
With the confirmation from Silvia, Syaitona ordered Mira to inform Mays about the arrival of their companions. She knew that her master would be delighted by their arrival, especially the two people who were close to her master, Tomiran and Kasimon.
Soon after Mira hopped off from Flamence's back, the crimson dragon immediately sprint forward toward the direction of the Misfit Squad's crowd.
''They noticed us already.''
''Obviously. Those were highest tier spirits after all. They are not one bit inferior to us.''
Both Joyah and Dora noticed that Flamence was shooting directly toward them. With both of them having specialty originated from archer class, their sight was obviously better than the rest of the group.
''Its better this way. I'm tired of dragging this piece of useless trash anyways.''
Bahar grunted as he kicked the hulking load he had been dragging all over. On closer look, one would be able to recognize that this small hills was actually an ogre. A gold ranked insane boss to be exact, the very same ogre who ran away from the battle earlier.
It might have been thanking its ancestor after making it out alive from the city but who would have expected that it would bump into this group of godkins. Since most HeavensTale player knew the fact that ogre had demon blood within them, they attacked the ogre upon sight.
''Hahaha. This meat shield must have ran away from the battle. Just look at all those ogres and black dragon corpses littered all over here. The mere sight of it is nauseating.''
''You said that but I can feel your blood thirst peaked out because of it.''
Adol who commented casually was rebuked by Samat who maintained his calm demeanour. He was indeed the leader of this group. Apart from Tomiran and Kasimon who was overly mysterious, he basically knew almost everything about the other member of his squad.
''Tch, fine. Yes, i admit it. I thirst for battle so bad that I am leaking out blood thirst without noticing.''
''How unrefined. You can never compare to the Red Wargod at this rate.''
''Meh, i would never be comparable to him in this life. He is the brother of our guild leader who trained in martial arts since he was a child. Our level differed too much.''
''Haha. Glad you realized it.''
The other member of the Misfit Squad laughed at it when Adol was teased by Joyah. Before this, Adol always complained about how he was now comparable to Mays in strength after coming to this world. He was confident in his well built physique since he was a gym teacher back on earth.
Reality slapped him hard on his face when he realized that Mays was actually way more awesome that he was. The fact that Mays studied ancient martial arts alone left him in the dust, not to mention the fact that he was used to real combat and his monstrous adaptability in any situation.
''Greetings, member of Misfit Squad. Master is resting inside the palace right now. Please follow my lead.''
Soon after Syaitona jumped down from on top of Flamence, she greeted everyone present sincerely. Not everyone deserved to be greeted by her personally but the two friends of her master was more than qualified.
''Yes.''
''Right away.''
Almost every single one of them replied in unison. Even when the one speaking to them was just Syaitona, a spirits, everyone present still showed her respect because of the fact that she was the strongest spirits under Mays.
''Syaitona, both Ria and Hallel are together with Mays?''
'' Lady Ria should be together with him. As for Lady Hallel, I'm not sure myself.''
''It's okay. I'll find out when we get to the palace.''
Following closely behind Syaitona, Kasimon started talking to her casually. It was evident that they were quite close to each other from their tone. As for the rest of the squad member, they kept their mouth shut as they followed behind the spirits obediently.
''Why are you asking about them? Could you be planning something behind the... ouch!''
''Shut up. Its none of your business.''
Smacking the back of Tomiran's head, Kasimon hastened her walking pace without looking back. Nobody knew what Kasimon was currently thinking, not even her own brother.
The crimson dragon Flamence immediately shot toward the palace after dropping off Syaitona. There was no way for this group of fifty people to ride on this small crimson dragon hence Syaitona decided to lead them by foot. This group came all the way here on foot anyways, none of them would bother riding a mount just before arriving either.
