章 35: USING CHARLOTTE

Sebastian held his breath as he watched Charlotte stare unblinkingly at Emma's outstretched hand. Emma's bright smile began to falter, lengthening into a faint, strained line as Charlotte's gaze remained fixed.

"Sebby, didn't you tell her about me?" Emma hissed through clenched teeth, her eyes darting awkwardly to Sebastian, her tone laced with annoyance.

Sebastian opened his mouth to intervene,

"Charlotte–"

But Charlotte didn't let him finish. Instead, she reached out and took Emma's hand,

"I am Charlotte, Mr. Sebastian's Orchid," Charlotte declared, a feigned smile spreading across her face.

Emma's brows furrowed, her expression darkening as she turned to Sebastian. Her eyes narrowed, accusation flashing within them.
