Outsider’s Enigma has a lot going for it, especially if you’re into fantasy stories with unique twists. The whole idea of using “stories” as a source of power is really fresh (as it’s not something I see often), and it’s a great hook. The high-stakes missions, like battling apparitions and facing cultists, keep the tension high right from the start, which makes it easy to get sucked in. The world itself has a lot of potential, with its ranking systems and the mysterious role of Librarians. Well... It feels like there’s a deeper lore waiting to be unraveled, and that’s exciting! That said, the story could use a bit of polish. The pacing can be overwhelming, especially when there’s a lot of world-building crammed into the early chapters. I don't know if the author really aims to explain the system... But I feel like I get a ton of info upfront, and it feels like drinking from a firehose. The characters are interesting, but some of them (especially the supporting cast) could use more development to make their struggles hit harder. The writing itself is solid but could be tightened up; sometimes the dialogue feels a bit forced, like it’s trying too hard to explain things instead of letting the story flow naturally. Well... All that said, it’s a fun read if you’re into dark fantasy and don’t mind a bit of a learning curve. With some tweaks, this story could really shine, but even as it stands, it’s a good pick for fans of this genre!
