JUST TELL HER YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO DO
He felt the hours dragging by, weighing down on him. Each and every single one bringing him closer to a time where he should have been going to see Emily, but would not be able to do so.

me, trying to pretend to enjoy reading this still and trying to hold out hope it gets better again later

It has been almost 60 chapters straight of this inane lack of communication. Literally half the story so far is just two people stuck too far up their own angst to remember how phones work. I really liked the start of this story and the characters, but I've spent hundreds of coins now for literally nothing to happen. It feels like you as the author are just holding both main characters at arm's length, saying "no talking until I say so!" rather than it making sense for any actual plot reason anymore.

so she thinks you're too big and important to pick up the phone or read a text, but what's your excuse? literally just text her asking to meet up and talk. this is infuriating.
Now Derek really found himself missing that time. The first night when he had missed an opportunity to see Emily. It had been because he was being a coward, playing games when he should have just gone to the diner and apologised to her. When he got held up on the second night Derek had not minded as much, thinking that by the third night, he would be able to go see her, no problem.

his insomnia, not nightmares
After keeping the secret to himself for so long, Derek was going to tell Emily about his nightmares. He did not expect sharing the information to sway her in any way. But he at least hoped that it would sway her a little bit. But he had no idea exactly how he was going to bring the subject up.

I'm about ready to scream, this is being dragged out entirely too fucking long author i know this story is already written but you're killing me with this pacing, and not in a good way anymore. how many chapters of this even are there? is this literally half the book?
She could call him, but she doubted that he would answer her call. Afterall if he had wanted to talk to her, he could have come directly to her. Even so, she was tempted to call him and say "We need to talk," But she had stopped herself. That was something couples having a spat said. And as she had expected, Emily's shift had come and gone with no sign of Derek.

Well-written, wholesome, sexy... just a genuinely delightful read.
"I'm fine." She whispered back, and his grip faded. She got to the top, and Merlin was all smiles. His green eyes twisted in the light, and she was reminded once again that for some reason, all the stories of Merlin depicted him as an older man, with a white beard. Well, besides some adaptions. The Wizard grabbed her arm, pulling her towards the edge of the tower.

God. This was bad. This was really, really bad, and Harper wasn't even sure if she should pale in terror or blush in embarrassment. A coworker of hers, who she was currently sitting right next to, had read her smut book! And he was casually throwing references to it in a work meeting!

I'm a little confused on what the implication is here. So he was what?
"No. I wasn't when I was going to school here." Andrew told him and Will shut his mouth. Maxwell gave him a curious look.
