gotta do what's important

Mu Family, although I have no grudges with you, for the sake of impressing this beautiful Master of mine, I have no choice but to bring you down! It's your fault anyway. Who told you to be a bunch of insufferable a**h***s?

From my experience, readers of web novels tend to like what we call 'fast foods'. Here are the lists: > X times [rebate/binding/etc.] system. > 'My harem of [insert]' > My [Yandere/Beautiful/etc.] disciples/wives/masters/etc. bla bla bla. > [Insert] system in a [fantasy/cultivation/etc.] world. > Became/reincarnated/transmigrated as an extra/villain/etc. > Etc. Which, of course, would fall off in the middle of its serializing, from what I've seen most of the time if the author did terribly in the middle. Sometimes, it favored Eastern fantasy more. No joke. In my previous account, I tried to write a fantasy novel. 20 chapters in and my collections haven't even reached 20 yet. But when I wrote an OP, xianxia MC with a system, just a week (12 chapters) in I already got dozens of collections and even power stones. The point is, you should try to showcase the depth and the complexity of what you wrote in the book, in the chapters and the arcs, not in the title or synopsis. Which is exactly what most Eastern Fantasy novels have done. Try to make the synopsis as simple, intriguing, and 'fast food' as possible. It's weird, but it's true. And one crucial thing. Make the title simple. Make the synopsis simple. Keep everything simple. And add some depth and mystery to veil the 'simpleness' and the 'fast food'ness of your novel. People would get bored of simplicity, but if you sprinkle it with a little bit of complexity, they would be intrigued. And the most important thing of all, make 1-5 chapters of your novel intriguing! Show what you have to offer there. Make the characters alive! Show just how many hurdles the MC will have to face to reach his goals! The main point was to make your reader feel curious and excited about the next chapter. Additional notes: > Love your MC as if they were your most beloved character. > Continuously read your own story as if you were the reader, and see what was wrong in the narration. Perhaps the narration feels stale? Or maybe it was too clunky for you to read? Keep reevaluating your novel as a critical, ruthless reader. > Read other novels to use them as references. And try to apply it to your own story if you find aspects that you utterly love. For example, a sassy female lead, a dual-faced male lead, etc. > Love what you write! Look forward to what you will write! You could check out the academy in the app for more tips.
