Maybe if you didn't make the world he lives in also his original world, we wouldn't feel so weird about the story in this chapter, not to mention that you make him easily believe that this is his father and this is his original world, what if he was being manipulated would be interesting, most of the references were great, but this was bullshit, son of god etc... You can look for other references and not just the Lord of Mysteries or even the events in his story.
