It's not about what readers like, the chapter was just poorly thought out and written. It made absolutely no sense from the information you yourself have provided about the protagonist. In no world does a supernaturally intelligent being who can learn languages instantly and LITERALLY rearrange their mind to prevent mind readers EVER make a mistake as stupid as he just did. The very first thing he should've done was utilize risk/reward and appraise the cullens, even if he was somehow (he wouldn't be) found out he could again use his high int to lie/manipulate himself out of it. This is going to sound rude and I really don't want it to but it's the only way to put it; your protagonists intelligence if limited by your lack thereof. He has ability negation and Alice had a vision of what he was doing, something in a previous chapter you explicitly stated can't happen...How?
I understand many people didn't like the last chapter but I'll have to repeat that I'm a newbie writer who's just trying to improve as he goes on. This is only the second fanfic I've written so I don't really know what readers like and what they don't. So I'm trying to improve every day.

Everything is over-explained, in 15 chapters almost nothing has happened despite the large word count and the MC's actions, rather lack thereof, leave much to be desired. The novel is also rarely updated and is competing with a dozen other ones that the author continuously drops and rewrites.

Pretty sure all on-screen Spider-man variants could wipe the Sinister Six with relative ease if they went all out and didn't shy from killing, in my opinion the only reason Tom Hollands Spider-man didn't blitz the hell out of Green Goblin was plot.
It was all so new, and honestly, I already felt completely overwhelmed by the situation. Especially when I thought about a potential fight with the Sinister Six, a team that would give even Peter a hard time.
