Last I checked he still held his own against Mewtwo, and unless Giovani was holding back. Which in that chapter Ash was stated he wasn’t going to and was actually going to go all out to get a feel for Meetwo’s power. Giovani no matter how much he underestimated Ash was using Meetwo’s full power theough the suit. This isn’t a matter of opinion, my entire argument is using the content you as an author have directly told and stated throughout the story. Unless Giovani’s suit controlled Mewtwo is for some reason weaker than 1 legendary burd Ash should at least have a fighting chance. Giovani underestimating Ash dosen’t matter as he’s using the full power of the suit, and him not being aware as an argument is also invalid as the corruption on the legendary birds makes them less intelligent in return for power, as previously stated in the story. Underestimation or surprise dosen’t matter as if Ash where to come up there at the moment he’d both surprise the legendary birds and would face a stupider version of them. And if with all that Ash can’t win then where’s the story going? If Ash 243 chapters in can’t at measure up to some of the weakest legendaries with the help of another then what’s the point of it? If your going to follow the movie storylines with almost no change in its outcomes then what does it matter? I find the Ashtwo storyline that much more interesting as it actually branched out instead of how this one follows along the main storline with occasional divergences. This is fan fiction do something something different or impactful, if I wanted to read about the main storline I’d re-watcch the shows.

I feel like you’re nerfing the MC a little bit considering what he’s done.

He’s being incredibly humble considering he was able to take out Mewtwo with two other non-legendary using trainers and has godkiller Pikachu.

I can definitely understand him fighting in the beggining as he actually has to build it up. I just found it weird that a book about a guild master would have the MC POV be them going on adventures when that’s the job of the adventurers. Kinda like how when people start their own buisnesses (if they’re successful) they eventually expand and take a more administrative role, offloading the grunt work to their employees.
