Right, a marked Gyomei is comparable to Doma. And while Giyu did significant damage on Doma, he would’ve ultimately lost if the sun hadn’t intervened. So as for now, I think Giyu would be slightly above an unmarked Gyomei if they were to fight seriously.

Nah, Tengen walks around with paint on his face, so it’s not unusual. People would just assume it’s either paint or a birthmark, or not ask out of respect. Ubuyashiki might know, but I’ll touch on that in later chapters. Same with the reason why Giyu didn't rush to mention it

Now, he was trying to replicate that power, trying to unlock the same strength, but no matter how much he practiced, the blade refused to change again. He couldn't reach that state, no matter how hard he pushed himself.
